A CERTAIN IRONY

Forces within the United States in the name of not being offensive to anyone are trying to eradicate any vestige and mention of God and Christ from our daily lives, at least in public. Christians receive the blame for creating hate and unrest amongst the non-believers around the world. Idiocy? In a word, yes.

If anyone cares to notice it isn’t Christians who are blowing people to bits with bombs nor are Christians engaging riots in France over one thing or another. The first riots in various places were over cartoons not exactly complimentary to Mohammad. But why should they be given the history of the man? The acts done under his aegis are anything but peaceful.

In looking around the world, there are protests that defy common sense. The French, who have always looked with disdain upon those who reject their politically correct, ever so tolerant socialistic ways, now have turbulent times as the young, who think they are entitled to a life time job with no threat of being fired, are rioting for rights in their materialistic oriented society which is devoid of the God of the Bible. Oddly, workers in one of the worst times in modern history, the 1930s Depression in the United States, didn’t riot or protest to any great degree when the lack of means to survive was scarce. They were too busy trying to survive was one reason they didn’t, but there is another which will be mentioned near the end of this article.

A man, a former Muslim, in Afghanistan has been persecuted, prosecuted, and threatened with death for renouncing Islam and claiming Christ. “Blasphemy” say the clerics in that country. Their pronouncement is that he must die. A religion that is said to be peaceful is in the process of using violent force to cause the man to turn back to Islam. If a believer rejects Christ and becomes an unbeliever, do other believers threaten him with death? No they don’t but God says that will be his end will go his way down the path to eventual destruction without anyone using force against him.

The heathen rulers in Africa destroy property and kill those who won’t and don’t adhere to their despotic, terrorist ways. Whatever their religion maybe, it isn’t that of the God we read about in scriptures. Those under the domination of Communism were treated in the same fashion by Stalin and the other Communist tyrants who tried to make Communism their god. God using Ronald Reagan as his agent, and for the most part, destroyed Communism and the steel curtain was torn asunder.

Take stock of the nations wherein there are problems and the identity of those causing the problems. The majority of the inhabitants of nations where the riots and carnage is occurring aren’t Christians, holding other beliefs or no beliefs at all except materialistic ideas or allegiance to some nebulous god who isn’t a god at all. Yet, people in the United States and around the world try to stifle the belief that can and will bring order to their lives.

The preceding paragraph brings us to the reason that society in the United States remained relatively stable during the Great Depression.  The people believed in God and had faith that He would see them through the bad times. Further, that belief provided them with a strong sense of morality in regard to right and wrong behavior. In fact, the lowest crime rates in the history of the nation occurred during the depression. The “oh so enlightened” of the world should take note.

While the world condemns Christians for their belief being offensive, they offer no solution except more of what is causing the trouble. But don’t be surprised when they call on us to help them restore order. When they do, we will take our belief in God, mount up, and ride to the rescue. In Sorting It Out, that is the Certain Irony of their attitude they hold toward us.
