A DYING NATION Part I |
|
In Hebrews 9:27 we find the following: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: reveals to us that all men and women will, at some point in their lives, keep the promised end of their physical life on this earth. Said death may come swiftly or it may come slowly, but it will arrive whether we are ready for it or not. The principle of death for all living things can be applied to nations as well. It may arrive quickly or it can be a prolonged process that is painful to watch. Whether it is admitted or not by those who want to ignore the truth or those with a blind obedience to political forces, the United States is dying. In order to understand the process of death to a nation, it is necessary to look at history. The process actually began with Theodore Roosevelt who used an executive order to create the National Park system. Congress later made the order into law and which had no constitutional foundation. President Woodrow Wilson was in office when the 16th and 17th Amendments to the Constitution were ratified. At the time, no one could see the unforeseen consequences that have resulted from the deviation from constitutional government as given in the original document. Then the process of heading toward national death received more impetus with the New Deal of FDR and later under President Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society when we progressed farther along the road wherein nirvana and utopia were only more social programs with millions of dollars spent, all designed to eliminate whatever bedevils humans. As bad as all those things are, an even more menacing act lay in the wings. It was and is the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized the murder of tiny and defenseless human beings, now referred to unemotionally by the abortion crowd, as just a fetus. Just a fetus indeed! How crass and cold can humans become? Abortion is the answer. (Search the Bible for God’s word on abortion.) The majority ruling on abortion authored by Justice Harry Blackmun found a right to privacy hidden in the language of the Constitution, which he said formed the basis for the ruling. However, there isn’t any right to privacy in the Constitution unless one considers the 4th Amendment to address privacy and at that, it is a prohibition on the government to prevent unwarranted intrusion against life and property. At this point, it is necessary to quote our second President John Adams, "Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the governance of any other." Without the restraint of God on the conscience of humans, all sorts of atrocities can and will be perpetrated against others. Roe v Wade not only violated the morality of the nation (the ruling has since been proven to be based on a lie), it denied the sanctity of life protected by the Constitution. The Declaration of Independence says, We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. -- That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, … Getting ahead a bit, the purpose of government is to secure the rights of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. (Look up the meaning of just in reference to just powers in Webster’s 1812 Dictionary for an eye opening exercise that reveals the thinking of the Thomas Jefferson and the other founders. In the main, it has the meaning of doing what is right in regard to the unalienable rights.) It should be obvious to anyone who has the desire to know the truth that the United States Supreme Court, the Executive and the Legislative Branches are duty bound to protect the life of all the unborn, but that is not what is happening today and as a result, abortion is playing a part in our dying nation.
