In March of 2006, an article about Billy Graham was published on this
site concerning his preaching. As
expected, the view presented proved not to be very popular since Graham
has many followers and therein lies the problem. People have followed
and are following Graham and his teachings instead of Jesus Christ and
the apostle’s teaching.

Billy Graham left out a lot of the Bible and mostly it was clear
doctrine about what is needed for salvation. At the end of each of his
preaching sessions he gave an invitation which requested people to come
forward to accept Christ, see counselors, join a church of choice, and
follow whatever doctrine the chosen church group taught. The only
problem with the foregoing is that it isn’t found in the scriptures,
thus being nothing more than a recipe for those who think they are
saved, remaining lost.

Paul addressed the delusion that Graham presented to the people time
after time. [2 Th 2:9] Even him, whose coming is after the working
of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [2 Th 2:10] And
with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because
they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [2 Th
2:11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie: [2 Th 2:12] That they all might be damned who
believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Tragically, those who hear Billy Graham are deluded by his message
and will not be saved. That may sound intolerant, but it is the truth.

An article in World Net Daily reveals much about Graham and no attempt
to repeat what is exposed in the article will be done here. Suffice it
to say that Graham doesn’t believe the judgment of God in Christ and
says those of other faiths may well be included in heaven. When asked if
those who reject Christ will be saved he replied,
"Those are decisions only the
Lord will make. It would be foolish for me to speculate on who will be
there [in heaven] and who won't. ... I don't want to speculate about
that." (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=51461

Peter wrote about the false prophets of his day and it is no different
today as those who search for the truth are scoffed at by people who
deny the truth. Graham by saying others who don’t believe in Jesus
Christ might be saved is denying the truth he claims to know, and by his
own words admits he doesn’t believe the gospel and its message. He thus
fits Peter’s words. [2 Pet 2:1] But there were false prophets
also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that
bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction [2 Pet 2:2] And
many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of
truth shall be evil spoken of.

All during his preaching years Graham presented himself as a Bible
authority and now he says he didn’t study as much as he should have. He
either didn’t study much or studied just enough to know what to leave
out so he could be acceptable to all those who hold different doctrinal
beliefs. Paul told Timothy the following: [2 Tim 2:15] Study to
shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Obviously, Graham
didn’t take the verse to heart, if he read it at all. Additionally, Paul
wrote: [2 Tim 3:16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: [2 Tim 3:17] That the man of God may be
perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Apparently
Billy Graham hasn’t been thoroughly furnished by his own admission.

Timothy was a young preacher in need of guidance which Paul gave:
[1 Tim 4:16] Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in
them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear
thee. Billy Graham didn’t and doesn’t yet take heed to the
doctrine of Christ. The question is why doesn’t he?
|
|
With that question in mind there is another one that must be asked. How
many of those are saved who have heard Graham’s message over the years?
When his preaching is compared to the scriptures the answer isn’t good.
The words of the Lord paint a chilling picture: [Mat 7:13] Enter
ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
[Mat 7:14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

|
Graham doesn’t believe in Jesus Christ and his preaching testifies to
that fact. In Sorting It Out, he is a false teacher who has lead many
through the wide gate to destruction.
