Daily, the news is filled with wars, fighting, and battles, all of which
are taking place in this nation amongst citizens, politicians, and
churches. One group says one thing and another counters with the
opposite which may or may not address the central problem that is
causing the dissension nationwide. Actually, the dissension has only one
aspect that will be shown to lie at the root of the problems. That one
aspect is human behavior that refuses to follow a standard that levels
the playing field for everyone.

That people don’t like standards and the laws and the rules that are
made subsequent to them, can be seen the behavior of the Pharisees of
old. The Pharisees didn’t like the law so they made up ways to exercise
power and do as they pleased and then acted righteous. Jesus said to
them, Woe unto you, scribes and
Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which
indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's
bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear
righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
(Matthew 23:27-28) Do we not
see the problem of sin in our nation as a whole, and with government in
particular, when men in positions of leadership tell the people how to
act and they themselves do the opposite?

A nation that was founded according to God’s
ways and his principles as taught by Jesus Christ are denigrated; those
of us who make every attempt to live the Christian life are ridiculed by
politicians, so called preachers, “clergy” and infidels. Yet at the same
time, evil religious beliefs and behaviors are given place to operate
with little or no restrictions, all done for the sake of tolerance,
diversity, and inclusion. The first instruction in the Ten Commandments
is Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20: 7)
But there are all kinds of gods proclaimed by the disobedient who won’t
recognize the Creator.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter Pace called homosexual
behavior immoral. He has come under condemnation by those who refuse to
study as Paul told Timothy. Dr. C. Welton Gaddy, a Baptist preacher, and
president of the Interfaith Alliance said, "General Pace should
apologize for substituting his irrelevant personal beliefs for strategic
advice." The preacher proclaimed his belief when he said that Pace’s
personal belief was irrelevant. It makes no difference the milieu,
personal belief in God is the guiding force for all things whether Gaddy
likes it or not.

This puffed up preacher so good at giving advice is going to get some
right here. The advice is contained in the words of Paul to Timothy 2
Timothy 3:16-17: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works. General Pace spoke of
unrighteousness when he said homosexual behavior is immoral. With God,
General Pace is thoroughly furnished for good works. The uppity preacher
has a lot to learn just like the Pharisees.

Next under assault is the Constitution, the
standard for government. Its intent is to limit government, but an
examination of the work of Congress shows that the elected poobahs do
anything but limit their law making activities. They act like the
Pharisees, imposing draconian rules on the people and then brag how
great their works are for helping the people. Since the Constitution is
built on the freedom and liberty found in God, only fools will argue
that God has no place in the administration of government. After a few
minutes of listening to the puffers and blowers, it is obvious that the
world is full of fools, with many of them in both the United States
Congress and the nation’s churches.
|
|
All the points above are causing the nation
to struggle. In Sorting It Out, when God and the Constitution are shoved
aside, the resulting chaos is the result of a nation in disarray.
