Abraham’s Sacrifice |
|
God told Abraham to kill his son as a sacrificial lamb, To show how strong his faith was in the words of the Great I Am. God told him to lay Isaac down on the holy altar, Abraham laid him on the stone in his faith he did not falter. Just before Isaac was to die, God told Abraham, Don’t kill your son you have great faith, instead just kill this ram. He knew the words of God above could never be ignored. That’s why he gave his only son as an offering to the Lord. Could you or I be just that strong to do as God told him? Abraham gave Isaac as only a sacrifice, not atonement for eternal sin. But that’s the difference between God and man; God paid the biggest price, He gave His son to you and me, as the ultimate sacrifice. Could you have done what Abraham did and obey his God’s command, Simply because God said to, or instead would you demand. That God pick someone else die, someone you didn’t know, Would you be so weak in your walk of faith that it couldn’t help but show. Is it like that with you today, do you walk in His delight? Or do you walk your worldly way and do not shine your light. The light of salvation through Jesus Christ, does it outshine your worldly deeds? Or do you keep your light covered up, His help you do not need. In our world today, God will never ask for you to sacrifice your child, He only wants and demands of us, our souls be reconciled. Reconcile your soul to Jesus Christ, accept His invitation, And you live forever in heaven above because of His salvation. The sacrifice that our God wants is that you die to self each day, That means crucifying your sinful thoughts daily as you pray. You’ll pray for grace ‘till Jesus comes, who was a perfect man, The best that you can hope each day is only to understand. How Abraham had such great faith that he could give up Isaac his son, To the God he prayed to every day without a question one. You and I can have that faith; just get on your knees today, Thank Jesus Christ for saving you and the faith God gives each day. Copyright 2004 JEC |
