When Jeremiah Wright said, “America’s chickens were coming home to
roost,” he spoke truths he didn’t intend and ones that you are going to
read in this article. Some readers may not like it, but so be it; the
truth a does tend to make some people angry.

Many years ago, the people of the republic began to be lured by the
siren song that the government can help us cure all that ails us. The
focus was on the economics of government spending that has lead to debt
that the people may never be able to pay back to those who loaned money
to the nation. All of this money was supposed to help the down trodden
and the poor. All it has done is make a very large portion of the
population dependent on government handouts with no decrease in their
government proclaimed poverty.

|
As the years went by and as the working people prospered, more
government programs were installed to help cure the ills. Wages were
good and employment was high, except for an occasional increase in
unemployment, which is a natural part of a market economy as business
ebbs and flows. The assumption was that all the government programs were
good and were doing no harm to the nation since those in power were
working for the good of all.

Like the siren call of the seductress, the nation was being lulled into
a false sense of economic security. At the same time, the people were
losing sight of God and their moral underpinnings. That brings to mind a
verse in I Peter 5:8 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he
may devour: The devil, in the form of government, took on the
form of government compassion aided and abetted by politicians in both
parties. The mind set became that Democrats were good and Republicans
were bad, when in fact neither one followed the Constitution or the
morals of the Bible. Yet, with the evidence very plainly seen by the
people, their ears were deaf to the impending disaster that was going to
occur.

In November of 2008, a man was elected who is continuing to take us down
the path of national doom. How did he become the “leader” of the
republic? He promised change and hope all geared to the hate some people
held for President George W. Bush. The news media played to his hand to
help elect him. His promises of utopia and nirvana were and are nothing
more than the loud voiced barker shouting at the carnival. The voters
were so enthralled by the tall, smooth speaking voice of evil that they
didn’t stop to think of what he was saying. And what was he saying?
Nothing is the answer. His speeches had no content except jingoisms that
appealed to the base nature of the human existence. Like sheep being
lead to slaughter, the voters flocked to the polls to elect a soulless
leader who only believes in his own magnificence. Remember that he said,
“We are the ones we have been waiting for.”

We, the people of the United States, are now seeing the ugly truth known
as an out of control government lead by politicians and bureaucrats with
no other agenda than to control us. More government control of every
aspect of living from our daily wages to our spiritual life is dragging
us down the path of doom. That is the essence of the chickens that have
come home to the national roost.
|
|
We can reverse it by demanding of our office holders that they follow
the Constitution. We can demand that the judges stop relegating God to
the trunk out of sight, and for them to keep their collective noses out
of our spiritual lives.
|
|
It is time for us to chase the evil chickens from the roost by returning
to the values that our founders held and intended for us to keep. It is
plain that the Wrights, the politicians, and the nut jobs are in the
number of chickens that need to go. In Sorting It Out, Wright had no
idea of the truth he was speaking.
