BE SURE THEY WILL |
|
Scoff at the scriptures and claim that the valued principles that continue to stand the test of times are meaningless as you will. Scoff at the idea that morals are only for the unenlightened and ignore sin as a worn out idea of a time long ago when people were slaves to a standard far removed from the reality of human experience. But the truth remains that people are slaves to sin and scramble in this day and age to hide their indecent and untoward behavior. Scripture tells us that it is impossible to hide from God. The writer of Hebrews 4:12-13 tells us: 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Those who think that they can hide their behavior are suffering from delusions as will be seen. The Book of Numbers 32:23 records God’s dealing with the people of that day. To not do as he instructed is to sin against him: But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out. The truth holds to this day that when God is disobeyed, the sin will be found out. A lot of people are having sins found out and they don’t like it. A lady in Washington D.C. ran an escort service and has a list that contains names of her customers and predictably, a lot of men are very nervous about the list being made public. Lawyers for the customers are trying to keep the list from public scrutiny. Now here is the point of the issue concerning the conduct. If the conduct that presumably took place isn’t sin, then why keep the list from the public? If God’s morals are old hat, then why are they afraid of their names being known? Righteousness is involved in the keeping of the moral teachings of God. Unrighteousness is the word for engaging in conduct displeasing to God. Paul addressed those who spurn the truth and tells us what is going to happen to them for believing that morals and righteousness are old fashioned. He wrote in 2 Thessalonians 2: 9-12: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. The truth has been shoved aside by those on the list. They have delusions that sin doesn’t exist and they have had pleasure in unrighteousness. Perhaps the light is dawning on them that they have behaved in ways not pleasing to anyone including God. Again, if the behavior wasn’t wrong, then why are they trying to hide? Jesus didn’t and doesn’t condemn the men on the list. His words in John 3: 17-21 conform to Hebrews 4: 12-13: 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Anyone who engages in sin is condemned. Those who have so behaved love darkness and are afraid of the light because as Jesus said, their deeds were evil. The truth cannot be denied. As Paul wrote in Colossians 3:25: But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons. Be sure your sin will find you out. © 03-17-2007 DEC Next Lesson Deadly Denial Part I Article URL http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8NTISU01&show_article=1 |
