Just mention the Koch brothers and John Brummett’s hissy begins to fit big time. In his column article Things not better with Kochs of 10-14-2012, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, he tried to make us believe that the Koch brothers, David and Charles were plotting a coup to take over the Arkansas Legislature which will make the people of the state captives to right-wing liberty destroying rule. No matter that the state has been held captive by Democrat rule for eons of time. It is just terrible to think that the vaunted and sainted Democrats will lose their, oh so benevolent rule. Why we will be subjected to lower taxes and more liberty. A terrible situation will be the way of the state should the Democrats be relegated to minority status.

What follows is his hissy fitting: Our Arkansas General Assembly, if taken over in the imminent elections by anti-government simpletons beholden for their elections to the Koch brothers’ help, would likely: Reduce income taxes inordinately for high incomes. You should notice that Mr. High and Mighty holds those of us who want limited government, which is government that follows Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution anti-government simpletons who will pay homage to the Koch brothers. Does not Brummett understand that the Koch brothers have never taken one penny from anyone by force; nor is homage necessary at any level in any amount? Do they not have aright to engage in politics as does George Soros who Mr. Brummett conveniently didn’t mention? He also called the bothers Daddy Warbucks as if the Democrats aren’t at all trying to influence anything. Of course they aren’t; liberal big government saints never engage in that type of conduct.

Governor Beebe was bent out of shape over an ad done by Americans for Prosperity, an enterprise of the … you guessed it, the evil Koch brothers. The mention of high taxes incensed Mr. Beebe. What has Mr. Beebe done for the people governmentally except reduce taxes on groceries?  That is tantamount to the nut job in the White House declaring he will save Big Bird. The next thing we may hear is that Dustin McDonald will keep the grocery taxes from being raised. Is that a pledge equivalent to “I’ll save the Big Bird from those dastardly Republicans?”

It is very abhorrent to Mr. Brummett and his big government ilk to even suggest that people ought to be dependent on themselves rather than depending on government through forced extraction of the wealth of fellow citizens. It is even worse for him to believe that everyone should pay the same tax percentage rate no matter how much one earns. Mr. Brummett would no doubt deny it, but when he and his ilk want to tax those who earn more a higher rate, he is singing the progressive line of politics known as Marxism, as in Karl Marx, Communists extraordinaire, thankfully long deceased. His legacy that exists in the minds of the Brummett and Beebe types is bad enough.

David and Charles Koch earned their wealth with honest work using the laws of the republic. But, Mr. Brummett doesn’t think they should have voice in how government treats people. They are the opposition to the Brummetts of the world who believe that what one earns should be divided up with others. He resents people who believe that the major portion of what one earns should be kept by the earner. His type calls people whoso believe uncaring, greedy and a few other words.

While you keep up your Marxist, anti free enterprise philosophy Mr. Brummett, maybe you should remember the fact that the pay for your dim bulb articles comes from a businessman using the free enterprise system that makes your employment possible. When wondering why you are paid to write your tripe, there is one consolation. You are working instead of sponging off the taxpayers in the welfare line.
