DEVOID OF REASON |
|
Several letters to the Voices column of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette during the months of August and September, 2012, exhibited intolerance for anyone who expressed belief in God, Jesus and limited constitutional government. In fact, some of the letter writers blamed those with whom they disagreed for being the source of the problems. The underlying theme and unstated words tend toward, “just shut up and do not confuse us with facts” and “we are right and you are wrong.” All of which flies in the face of the First Amendment with a total disregard for the fact everyone has a right to write and speak their beliefs, even the intolerant left. Of course, to the ungodly and the left (oops, pardon the repetition) free speech only belongs to them and they have even suggested limiting the First Amendment. Letters which explain the evil nature of homosexual behavior, in spite of the fact that it is ungodly in every respect, meet with derision and misquoted Bible verses. Many of those who use the Bible, or rather misuse it, claim no affinity for God and make attempts to use that which they do not believe to prove believers wrong. They state that Jesus didn’t speak of homosexual matters, which to them proves that Jesus approved of homosexuality. All they prove is that they do err, not knowing the scriptures as Jesus told the Pharisees in Mark 12:24 when they questioned him concerning marriage and the resurrection "Is not this the reason you are wrong, that you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God? And the fact that they attempt to use God’s love for mankind to say love allows homosexual marriage is a perverted use of the scriptures they do not believe. Jesus said that marriage was for a man and a woman and that excludes all else whether the homosexuals and their supporters like it or not. Limited government scares the “government must do everything for me” crowd into having fits. Their hate filled diatribes against reason and common sense show that the Karl Marx inspired hate for the free market system and private enterprise has been installed into the minds of many people. Those whose letters show disdain for the idea that those who work and earn claim that the government has the right to take from one and give to another in the interest of fairness. They never bother to examine the fact that taking from one by force of any kind, whether by law of a criminal act, is not fair to the one who has earned the income. It’s fair to take the earnings because those who want to keep the fruits of their labor are greedy and it serves them right to be forced to give up a portion of their livelihood. And to prove the point of their “rightness” they usually mention Jesus and the rich young ruler as proof of their ability to proclaim truth as long as it is twisted to fit their leftist schemes. “But don’t doubt us, for we know the truth of scripture when it comes to what the government must do for us.” Remember, a number of those who use that scripture or any scripture do not believe anything in the Bible is true. Support for the nut job (aka Barack Hussein Obama) is unwavering amongst the leftist Democrats. Those who point out his lies, the double dealing and unconstitutional edicts are haters and destroyers of the utopia he envisions. The left uses the words of racist and hateful toward those who point to his duplicity. They claim that his skin color is the reason for the animosity toward him. Again they do err; it is his ungodly support for homosexuality and same sex marriage; his disdain for the military, support for abortion; support for all things Islamic and Muslim; disregard of the Constitution and his outrageous spending that is driving up the debt which we despise. Truth will save the republic and it must be told, but as Paul asked the Galatians when they disputed the facts concerning the law and Jesus Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? (Galatians 4:16) Yes, we who tell the truth are the enemy of the left letter writers and those who don’t write but hold the same views. So be it, the republic wasn’t built by a powerful government but by a powerful group of citizens who worked, earned, built, followed the teachings of the Bible and honored God in the process. Anyone who believes anything different is devoid of reason which is an apt description of the left. © 09-16-2012 DEC |
