It was a long time in arriving: eighty years to be exact and it began on February 20, 1933. That is the date the republic began its descent into a dictatorship guided by the hand of FDR. We are facing an even worse state of affairs in the months and years ahead as we are increasingly being bound by the chains of slavery known as the federal government run by ungodly men and women whose only gods are power and control. But before examining the behavior of a few of the little gods in Washington D.C. and other places, it will be good to recall the words of a very famous forefather of the republic, Patrick Henry.

Mr. Henry has been quoted often for his famous line of “give me liberty or give me death.” However, there is more that is not quoted much, if at all. He said, “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death! Just note that most who quote Mr. Henry never use the words Forbid it, Almighty God!

In the year 2013, the people of the republic have a decision to make: will we as a once free people (anyone who thinks we have the liberties of 100 years ago or less are in denial) begin to resist the chains that the nut job and his minions are wrapping around us, or will we meekly submit to their increasing threats and use of their man made laws to induce terror? Terror? Yes, fear of firearms in the hands of peaceful, law abiding citizens. So, according to the nut job and his supporters, we will be safer if no one has guns. The words of a very wise man are in order: "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." --Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1795.

As nearly everyone knows, firearms are the latest grab for our liberties. When all the blather concerning executive orders is shoved aside, one glaring fact remains; all those executive orders are unconstitutional. Going further, all federal gun laws are unconstitutional; there is no power given in Article I, Section 8 (USC) to the federal government to control firearms, period. The intrusion began in 1934 with National Firearms Act when ownership of submachine guns was restricted. What caused the restriction? Prohibition of alcohol by the federal government caused the law to be passed.  Gangsters (Al Capone the head gangster running Chicago) in the alcohol business caused by prohibition used machine guns to conduct their gang wars for control of the alcohol business. Prohibition was a grand experiment to control society and it failed, but it did open the door to federal control of firearms.

Andrew Cuomo rammed a gun control measure through the New York legislature, and as usual with dictator instigated laws, it is fraught with unintended consequences. Read the result here. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/ny-gun-law-may-discourage-mental-health-therapy-those-who-need-it  One commenter wrote that the New York act violates the federal Health Insurance portability Privacy Act, “HIPPA requires that a person's medical records remain private. Now liberals demand that a person's medical records be reported to the government.” So what else is new? Isn’t that the usual mess that dictators create? If mental health people do not report the patient as the New York Law requires, they will be a law violator. If they do report, they will be a federal law violator.

As the years passed, more restrictions were issued, but the people only complained while yielding to the controls. The nut job said he wouldn’t take our guns. He lied because that is exactly what he had in mind when he said it and now confiscation in some form is on the horizon. Will gun owners yield to his power mad dictates? Only time will tell.

Kathleen Sibelius, Health and Human Services, is displaying her dictatorial control through the power of the law: “Right now, new health insurance market places are being set up in every state across the country,” Sebelius said. “And I gotta’ tell you, in spite of what your governor may be saying, that he or she doesn’t want to participate – the way the law is written, we will set up an insurance marketplace in every state in the country.” Right, no matter whether it is wanted or not, “Everyone will have the advantage of this law,” Sebelius said. Based on what is in that law, the word should be disadvantaged by the law.

Lisa Jackson, the brainless head of the EPA, has decreed that Ethanol 15 will be used in your gasoline powered vehicle even though it will ruin the engine because many components of the engines cannot withstand the corrosive behavior of that concentration of ethanol. Small engines and marine engines are among the most vulnerable to damage. But never mind, she knows what is best for all the slaves.

If the sensible people of this republic do not rebel against the dictator sitting in the White House, we will lose all liberty to live in peace and harmony with each other for all time. As it goes now, he is turning people against each other by simply using the “have and have nots line” of LBJ, using it to promote envy and jealousy at every turn. Those who believe that he is helping them are also enslaved, but they do not see it. What will they do when the dictator can’t steal any more money because there isn’t any left to steal?

Would the words of Patrick Henry be understood by those who are dependent on the government? By the same token, do those who can do something about it understand the gravity of Mr. Henry’s words? Have the people of the republic become so blinded by a life of ease that they will willingly trade their liberty for a few moments of false security and peace for a life of enslavement to the federal government and the dictator in the White House? There are two answers, liberty or a dictatorship; the choice will become known as the days pass. Dear reader, you hold the answer to the last question.
