Two letters which appeared in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Sunday,
April 12, 2009, deserve refutation besides pointing out the utter
stupidity of the Obama devotees. It is utterly astounding that those two
people can overlook the facts and blindly preach and support actions
which are destroying this nation’s free enterprise economy.
|
|
The writer living in Hot Springs will be excoriated first. She wrote
that the concepts of free market capitalism are almost totally
un-American and un-Christian. James wrote in 4:13, Go to now, ye
that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue
there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Get gain means to
make a profit and his further instruction was to include the Lord in the
daily business. Is that instruction un-American or un-Christian in any
respect?
|
|
On what planet does this person live? Has she not benefited greatly from
this un-American and un-Christian system as she calls it? The writer
needs to have a very comprehensive course in the history of this nation
and on the power released by the free market economic system that drove
the development of the nation’s growth until the federal and state
government’s tentacles began to strangle free enterprise.
|
|
Then she denies that the nut job is bringing socialism to our nation.
How does she explain the takeover of GM and Chrysler and the banks? Not
only those, but she blindly denied he has his sights set on the health
care insurance industry, oil production, and Wall Street. Does this
wunderkind of ignorance not read the newspapers or listen to the news?
She must be living on another planet that doesn’t have TVs and the
internet since she can’t see that the dictator is taking over and
intends to do more of it.
|
|
Not to keep her ignorance to herself, she blames everyone but Congress
for causing the jobs to go overseas. Business strangling regulations of
all kinds and taxes that diminish the ability of businesses to expand
and pay higher wages are causing the problem. Not to mention the unholy
alliances the government has made with labor unions. Where will she cast
the blame when the nut job finishes his nation wrecking work?
|
|
Now for the second dose of stupidity that appeared. The Harrison writer
thinks that the nut job’s deficit spending plans will improve the
economy. He needs to explain how anyone, the nation included, can borrow
and spend their way out of debt when such borrowing only expands the
debt. He thinks that government spending will expand the economy. He
needs to explain how the nut job’s taking from productive citizens and
businesses will create a better economy. The explanation might make a
good story line for the Twilight Zone. That seems to be where liberals
carry out their lives.
|
|
One of the mantras heard constantly and repeated in the letter is that
we need a serious energy policy to free us from foreign oil. Yes, we do
need that, but the ban on drilling promoted by the nut job and his
sycophants only increases the reliance. Before anyone brings forth the
alternative fuels and energy arguments, be reminded those can’t be
developed without, of all things, and perish the thought, the hated
crude oil.
|
|
A common central fact stands out in all the letters that promote the nut
job’s ideas: it is that no one mentions the Constitution or that the
programs are patently unconstitutional. That surely indicts the public
school systems across the land for not teaching the requirements of our
constitutional representative republic. Students have been instructed to
drink from the trough of big government for so long they think that
government will solve all their problems. Reliance on God using the
talents he gives to each, and the responsibility for one’s welfare are
not taught any more.
|
|
Presently, there is a man in the White House who intends to solve all
the problems. He uses fine sounding words read from a teleprompter as he
beckons the gullible to drink deeply of his elixir of stupidity. If the
letters to Voices are any indication, he is succeeding well to the
detriment of the nation.
