An atheist letter writer to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, on November 5, 2007, wrote that “he didn’t have a problem with how many believed in a higher power, but he had a problem with the use of biblical morality to justify law-making.” The Ten Commandments were the basis of our laws. The Bible is the origin of universal human rights. To paraphrase him, he was saying he had no quarrel with murder, lying, stealing, etc., only the laws against it, because they came from the Bible. Now his ignorance is recorded for posterity in his own words.

He also said he had a problem with absurd claims, “without evidence,” such as the earth was 6,000 years old and a worldwide flood. He is totally ignorant of the archeological supports for biblical records. Archeological discoveries have undermined the unquestioned certitudes of modern skeptics. Time and again archeology has verified the existence of places, people and events we once knew solely from biblical records. These discoveries bolsters the credibility of the biblical texts as containing real historical records. But the atheist letter writer believes Darwinism, “without evidence.” Whoever witnessed the “big bang,” and the happenings in the millions of years after, didn’t keep any records.

Evolutionists say all life evolved from a single simple cell of algae that washed up on the shore of some ancient pond, created by 25 million years of rain which melted the rocks. (That would mean all life and intelligence came from a dumb rock.) Darwin and his contemporaries, thought cells were just blobs of protoplasm. They did not have today’s breakthrough knowledge of the intricate molecular biochemical “machine’s” performance of complex functions such as vision, blood clotting and digestion. These are not “evolutionary steps.” This is huge leaps in design that are impossible by random process. Evolutionist ignore this. Even scientists wanting to reject creation see the impossibility of evolution. Complexity of biochemical design is one area that now seems impossible for evolutionist to surmount. At the molecular level, random mutation would have had to have billions of favorable adaptations all in a specific way, all at once.

There is no large scale fossilization occurring any where in the world today. When a fish dies, it does not sink to the bottom and become a fossil. Instead, it either decomposes or is destroyed by scavengers. But there was an incredible amount of fossilization that occurred sometime in the past. Fossil graveyards, petrified forests, and the rapid formation of coal all speak of the Genesis flood and other post flood catastrophes. These billions of fossils preserved in the fossil record could not have been formed by processes observable in the world today as Uniformitarian geologists have assumed and taught. Such preservation is very abnormal; it is the exception and not the rule. This attests to a strictly atypical worldwide, cataclysmic, hydraulic event such as Noah’s world wide flood. The fossil record of the geologic column is not a history of evolving life-forms, but rather a great memorial to the sudden mass extermination of life from another age; the annihilation of the antediluvian world, around 2,300 B.C. I have a film showing fish fossils that appear to be in a state of panic. As though it was being covered quickly and couldn’t escape.

Further evidence of the fact that a great and sudden cataclysm once struck the earth are the millions of mammoths and other large animals that were killed instantly in the north polar regions (Siberia and Alaska). They are still finding them. They were quick frozen, preserved whole and undamaged (except for being dead), with hair and flesh intact, meat still good enough to be fed to the animals. Some were kneeling or standing with buttercups still in their mouth. This speaks of extremely sudden and substantial freezing conditions in a mild tropical environment. I first read about them 40 years ago in Life Magazine.

The Bible tells of a canopy of water vapor that surrounded and enveloped the pre-flood world. This would have had a green house effect. Creationist theorize that temperatures up to 150 degrees below zero could have descended on the mammoths instantly during the early phases of the collapse of the vapor canopy. While such a theory cannot be proven, it is better suited to the fact at hand than any Uniformitarian explanation. The collapse of the vapor canopy would result in a dramatically different climate.

Such a canopy would also explain why palm leaves, fruit trees, tropical marine crustaceans, coral reefs and vast amounts of subtropical plant life are buried under the Polar Regions. The existence of this canopy filtered out harmful radiation from space which is known to have an accelerating effect on mutations and the aging process. That’s the reason people before the flood lived such long lives. Dinosaurs were lizards, and lizards never stop growing. They lived a long time too and that is why they were so big. They only got the name “dinosaur” 200 years ago. The Bible calls them dragons. So even less than 3500 years ago, people knew about dinosaur's (dragons), but they knew nothing about “evolution.”
