The Bible is filled with the behaviors of those who wanted to honor God and those who ignored him to their own peril. The Old Testament contains the accounts of those who followed God. Abraham, Enoch, Elijah, David, Moses, and Joseph are some of those who believed and did what God wanted them to do. On the other hand, there were those who did everything they could do to be disobedient. Saul didn’t honor God by keeping his commandments. Samuel told him in I Samuel 13:13, And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever. He continued in verse 14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee. He lost his opportunity to govern Israel due to his disobedience.

Scripture tells how to have Christ in one’s life. It begins with Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 and initial obedience to the gospel is followed by adhering to the words of Paul. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. (Colossians 3:16) He told the Ephesians You were taught to put away your former way of life, your old self, corrupt and deluded by its lusts, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-23)

However, in the year 2013 the words of Jesus and the apostles are not being followed by so called believers or anybody else. Churches of various kinds are denigrating the Word of God by teaching that homosexual sin is okay with God. Homosexual marriage is an abomination, yet it is supported by people who should know better. That is nothing more than total disobedience to the holy word. Abortion is allowed because the people want it available. That is another abomination.  Lots of high sounding words from many people, but total disobedience from them is obvious.  

Disobedience is also an affliction in the minds of the leaders of the Republic of the United States. They are disobedient to the Constitution even though they take an oath to uphold it. That they disregard the meaning of the oath is seen by their conduct which does not follow the Constitution. In short, they lied when they took the oath. Fidelity to the Constitution begins with fidelity to God’s word.

Infidelity is alive and well in the person of the man occupying the Oval Office. He routinely ignores the Constitution with a dictatorial defiance that dares anyone to stop him. So far no one has stepped up. It is as if II Thessalonians 2:3-4 has moved to the 21^st Century. 4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.  The man in the White house acts as if he is God and Congress does his bidding. It is much like Saul who inflicted damage on himself. He lost the opportunity to lead and the people are losing their liberty by following a false god.  But it doesn’t look like the man in the White House has any opposition to his position of power. He issues orders under the guise that he has the constitutional authority to circumvent the Constitution and any law he does not like. Remember the words man of sin; a modern version is residing in the Oval Office.  

Indeed, the so-called leaders and the people of the Republic of the United States have not only lost any semblance of following God’s timeless principles, they are ignoring the Constitution without regard to the damage they are inflicting on themselves. The following of the nut job is being facilitated by not only the Democrats, which is to be expected, and egged on by a godless leaning society, but by the spineless Republicans being lead by John Boo Hoo Boehner.

When the message of the Bible isn’t followed, all manner of heinous behavior becomes the norm. When the Constitution isn’t followed, those in government behave as a run away herd of cattle bellowing with all their might. For a stable, safe and orderly society, following the principles of the Bible and the requirements of the Constitution are mandatory. Without following them, society descends into lawlessness; and we are on that descent in the year 2013. Following God, Jesus and the Constitution is the only way it will stop. It is up to you.
