Atheists are fond of
braying that the men who founded the United States weren’t Christians
and of course really didn’t believe in God as portrayed in the
scriptures. The oddity with their assertions is that since they deny
God and the fact that the nation was founded on a godly standard they
presume to know what the founders didn’t do based on their own myopic
views caused by unbelief. They routinely overlook historical fact
contained in the writings of the men who knew and loved God, and to whom
we owe for the republic they set up as they were guided by God’s hand.
If the foregoing isn’t enough to make an atheist spit in derision,
nothing will.

Along with the atheists,
judges at all levels are denying that God exists in this nation and that
He has any place in governmental operations. Both of them routinely cite
the first amendment, that is a prohibition to Congress against setting
up a national religion, and use it to hammer people into silence by
saying that a mention of God is a violation of the doctrine of
separation of church and state. There isn’t any such wording in the
Constitution but they don’t and won’t listen to the truth. If they were
to acknowledge the truth of this matter then they would be forever
exposed to hearing the dreaded God word that they detest, not to mention
prayer which denies them their belief that there isn’t any higher being
than their own self righteous proclamations.

When men and women deny
a higher power, in this case God who created Heaven and earth, they then
set themselves upon a path for creating their own standards of behavior.
In opposite manner, the founders didn’t use their own standards for
setting up the republic, but rather looked to the heavens for guidance
from the God they worshipped. Inherent in the work of the founders is an
appeal to the righteousness of God and his morality. Even more, there is
found the belief that God gives freedom from wrong doing by following
his way and the consequent liberty that accompanies that freedom.

Contained in the
Declaration of Independence are the following words,
We hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and
the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these rights, Governments are
instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the
governed, … To acknowledge these words is deny that humans
and government are the giver of rights and that liberal judges and
atheists cannot do.

They counter that the
Constitution doesn’t mention God or any of the things believers hold
dear regarding government and religion. That is true, but the whole of
the original foundation of the Constitution is built upon the words of
the Declaration. When the two are separated then foggy thinking about
God and denial of our God given heritage is the result.

Though the unbelievers
won’t accept it, the founders believed there was a link between
belief in God and good government. The link is an unchanging standard
which is found both in the Bible and the Constitution. While the Bible
standard is unchanging, the Constitution can be changed, but it isn’t
wise to do so and history has proven that to be true.

Belief in a standard
higher than oneself drove the founders. That is anathema to those who
create their own standards which change like the winds to suit the
moment for their ungodly beliefs and behavior.

Atheists are driven to
deny anything higher than themselves and consequently they fight against
the founders who relied upon God to give us our nation. God destroys
their human standards and points out that they are wrong no matter how
much they protest to the contrary.
