Jesus said in Luke 11:17:
Every kingdom divided against
itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house
falleth. The Preamble to the
Constitution has the following: We the people of the
United States, in order to form a more
perfect union, … In Acts 17:26
Luke wrote: And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to
dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before
appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Three sources that
essentially speak to the unity that is necessary for the people of a
nation to be healthy of mind to enjoy the benefits of a stable system,
personally and publicly.

What do we see happening in this nation
today? It is everything but unity of the people who are supposed to
share a common identity. Various groups from homosexuals to Muslims to
liberals to supporters of abortion are all clamoring for their so
called “special rights.” The end result is a divided nation in turmoil
due to the fragmentation of purpose for this nation. Those demanding
their own “special rights” need to read the remainder of the Preamble
which gives the united purpose for the nation: … establish justice,
insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the
general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and
our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the
United States of America.
The purpose of the nation is given in
very plain simple words that are easily understood by any who wishes to
know why the founders created the Constitution. It is the instruction
book for the type of nation we were given for our liberty. It doesn’t
have any provision for granting favors to any group over any other
group.

When we look at the perfect union part of the
Preamble, we can see the principle of being unified and not divided
against ourselves which will bring destruction as Jesus said. Paul spoke
of being made from one blood which unifies us as humans, with no one
human being better than any other. The Declaration of Independence has
the following words that fit Luke 17:26: We hold these truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by
their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are
Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. All men [women included]
created equal in the sight of God from one blood, all of whom should
honor the universal sovereignty of our Creator.

Since the Bible speaks to unity which is part
of the foundation that caused the founders to write the Declaration and
the Constitution, then how can all the different groups expect that
their wishes should override all other groups? When one group is granted
special favors, it has to be at the expense of all other people and
groups and then unity begins to splinter, since those who gain special
favors are then considered to be more equal than other individuals and
groups. As such granting of favors occur the fragmentation of society
escalates.

The nation is divided regarding illegal
migration. No matter the reasons the illegal inhabitants and their
supporters may give for their [illegals] being in the United States, the
fact remains they broke the law to get here and are breaking the law by
staying. We need to be unified with the understanding that the laws must
be obeyed and that those who violate them will suffer the consequences
for such violations.

Division exists regarding Muslims who want
special favors for their religious beliefs. They demand special rooms
for prayer and tolerances for their religious practices far beyond the
practices and beliefs of other people. If they are given special
treatment, then should not all religions be given special favors? The
answer is obvious.

The nation cannot exist as it was in the
beginning if the fragmentation explosion continues. As Jesus said we
shall become desolate and will fall. In Sorting It Out, the answer is to
return to the unity that made this nation great. The greatness that came
through reliance on God and
adherence to the Constitution which created a nation wherein all are treated equally.
