The article you are about to read was written (as an answer to a letter
in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Voices column August 4, 2009), by a
registered nurse (now retired) who spent many years teaching student
nurses the courses dealing with the functioning of the human body,
particularly the procreation process and the formation of a new human
being, known as an unborn baby. The writer of the letter to Voices
expressed the following idea: [H] he didn't think a baby at three
months in utero was a living soul until it was born, and breathed,
because he hadn't considered that it had to be alive while it was
developing. He thought only when it was born that then God breathed the
breath of life into it. So therefore it wasn't a living soul till
it started breathing.

The writer explains very well the origin of the new baby from the moment
of conception to birth. If you think abortion is only a medical
procedure, remember that you and each and every person began just as the
article explains and abortion would have terminated your life if your
mother had so chosen.

As you
remember, Adam and Eve were not born as babies. They were never babies.
They were Created adults, and yes, God did breathe into their nostrils
the breath of life, and they became a living soul. This was the
beginning of human evolution. He also made them male and female, and
told them to multiply and replenish the earth. So He intended His
creation of humanity to continue by the fertilization of the female sex
cell, (ovum), by the male sex cell, (the sperm.), which grows and
develops as human babies. Not as oak trees, fish, tomatoes, or whales.
So God’s human Creation continues on by babies developing in its
mother’s womb. But they are still His Creation, made in his image. He is
the one who gave them life, at Conception, therefore it only makes sense
that at the same time that he gave them life, He also gave them a
“living soul” at the same time. With an acorn, you only get an oak tree,
and with the human seed you get only humans. It’s impossible to get
anything else.

Regardless of what the Evolutionists say, there is no evolving from one
species into another species. The word “evolution” simply means change
over time. That happens every time a child is born, and it is biblical.
Everything produces after its own kind, Genesis 1:20-25. Then he created
man, verses 26-28, and it stands to reason that humans create humans
(read verse 28 again) and they don’t come from any other origin any
more than a horse creates a cow. No species “evolves” from another
species. That’s Darwinism. Darwinism is only speculation, and has never
been observed. Never! Nor has any fossil ever been discovered of one
species evolving into another species. The “missing link” is still
missing, as is the whole chain.

The definition of the human fetus in my Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical
Dictionary, says it is a child in utero from the third month to birth.
Very simply, in the first two weeks of pregnancy, the cells are
multiplying fast, forming a morula (resembling a berry) called
blastocyte. Blastocyte gives rise to the principle organs. And from the
beginning of the 3rd week through 8 weeks, it is called [an] embryo.
Embryo is defined as “The young in the early stage of
development.” The embryo grows to about four inches in length by
the beginning of the fetal stage. But at no time, between the
fertilization, thru the blastocyte, embryo, fetal stage and birth is it
not human life. Keep in mind that it must be alive in order to develop.
If it is not alive, it would have to be the opposite of life, which is
dead. It has to be one or the other. And dead things do not grow or
develop, but rot instead.

The fetus must develop in its mother womb, but it is not a part of her
body. It is a girl or boy, who has its own limbs, brain, fingerprints,
heart, blood, internal organs, etc. It has everything it needs at that
time. (It’s all in the genes) Its sex, skin color and own genetic code
is a genetically distinct human which has come into existence, all at
the exact moment of fertilization, called Conception. And like all of
us, it is completely unique. There never was, nor never will be another
exactly like it. The mother’s and the baby’s blood never mixes. If it
did, half the time it would be fatal to both. It inherits from its
father too. And approximately half the time it’s a different sex and a
different blood type from its mother. You cannot safely mix two
different types of blood in the blood vessels of a human body, neither
the mother’s or the baby’s as it would kill them. Nothing else is added
to this developing baby, except nourishment, fluids and oxygen, removal
of its waste, all done by osmosis, by their blood being in very close
proximity; exchanging between her blood in the uterus, and baby’s blood
in the placenta, which has attached itself to the uterus. That is the
only thing else needed for this nascent being to continue developing
throughout its life, until its death, (in some cases 100 years or so
later). It became a human soul at the same time as it was given life, at
conception. It does not breath air until birth of course, for if it
tried, it would drown. For it develops in a sac of water (called
amniotic fluid). (But it has to have oxygen to live, and it gets its
oxygen from its mother, also by osmosis,). In plain English, its
mother’s blood carries these things to and from the baby. She is one who
eats, and breaths oxygen for it, and gets rid of its waste. Learn about
osmosis. Please look it up so you can understand it. The simplest way
that I can think of to describe it is, as the bloods are closest in the
uterus, its blood absorbs, oxygen and nutrients and fluid from its
mother’s blood, and its waste is absorbed into the mother’s blood in
reverse, which eliminates it at the same time it eliminates hers.

The Bible, as well as the 14th amendment of the Constitution, gives it
the right to have its God given life, protected from that moment. The
unborn child is simply another human being, indistinguishable in every
way from any of us, except in size and maturity. Its a genetically
complete human being from conception. This is found in countless
medical, biological and scientific writings. Sonograms show these living
organisms in the womb, to be “homo sapiens, (human species)” moving,
sucking its thumb, sleeping, etc. It will jump, or jerk at the sound of
loud noises, or be lulled to sleep by soothing music, etc. It is still
so small that the mother is not aware of its movements until the 3rd
trimester. That is the first time she feels it move. But its been alive,
and moving since conception. And God dearly loves them all.

Certainly they are not a tree, or anything else. Even the earliest
abortions stop a beating heart and terminate measurable brain waves. One
week after a woman has missed her first menstrual period, the embryo
already has a primitive beating heart, pushing its own blood, and its
brain and nervous system is developing. It is “in” its mothers body, but
they each have their own (and always different) genetic code, so they
are two different people. This is the way God planned and created it.

We have an awesome God. He is the source of all the intelligence in the
world. Remember, He looked at his Creation, and found it “good”. I used
to tell my students, if they didn’t believe in God, they would after our
study of the human body. Teachers aren’t allowed to tell them that
anymore. Some ignoramuses’ think that would be the starting of a
theocracy. They had rather think that all this marvelous Creation
happened as an accident. That after the big bang, (if it happened), it
rained for 25 million years, and melted the rocks, and a one celled
Ameba crawled out of the melted rock and it started the whole process of
life. (This came from a dumb rock?)
It’s extremely rare when a woman's life is threatened by
pregnancy. Pregnancy is not a disease. But when two lives are threatened
(as it would be in the case of a tubule pregnancy) and only one can be
saved, (if the mother dies, certainly the child will also) the doctors
must save that one life. Its always been that way, even before Roe vs.
Wade. (Mental conditions are not a valid excuse for abortion. In fact,
it has been found that if a mental disorder is present, it too often is
further complicated by abortion. No mental disorder has ever been cured
by abortion. ) Some of the worlds most prominent scientists and
physicians testified to the U.S. Senate (1981) that life begins at
conception. Everything it will ever need, every body part, is present
right then. I have 5 films on abortion including “The Silent Scream”
narrated by Dr. Bernard Nathanson, founder of NARAL, now ardently
pro-life and dedicated to exposing the truth about Abortion. It is a
Sonogram of an actual 12 weeks old fetus being aborted on Real-time
Ultrasound. The baby can be seen peacefully moving and sucking its
thumb, until invaded by the suction tip. Then it opens its mouth as if
to scream, and you see its desperate, agitated movements, as it attempts
to escape the abortionist’s suction curette, which tears it apart piece
by piece.

According to this nation’s founding principles and Biblical teaching,
life is unquestionably sacred and has inherent value. Maybe it would
help to read Psalm 139. Especially verse 13-16. If you approve of
abortion, then you are approving a woman having her baby butchered. For
ready or not, if she is pregnant the unborn child is already here, (if
that were not the case there would be nothing for the abortionist to
kill) and she has no choice but to “have the baby.” The question is [to
all], “Will she choose to be the mother of a live baby, or a dead
one?” Even a baby resulting from rape or incest is still a live human
being made in God’s image, and given life by Him. Who besides God has
the right to take a life? And especially when it cheats that person out
of the only life it will ever have on this earth. [To all who have read
this], I hope this information is helpful to you, and clears up your
idea of when and how God begins a human life.
