I have a question for you my friend, what is God’s favorite color?

Is it pink or fluorescent orange, or something a little duller?

If you ask me what I think it is I’d say that He chose white,

White is the color of perfect skin that so often blinds my sight.

 You might say that He’d choose brown because of the color of someone’s face,

Sometimes it shades all people you see which causes you such disgrace.

You might say that yellow He’s choose ‘cause you think someone’s Chinese,

Your skin can turn yellow when you get sick, oriental is not a disease.

 You might say that you don’t care, think, or even know,

Because if a person doesn’t look like you, no kindness to them you’d show.

When you judge someone or even hate because of their color of skin,

You do the same to Jesus Christ because of the color of sin.

 These questions I ask were just a trick, but it’s just like that these days,

God has a favorite but the one He hates; it’s the color of our sinful ways.

The color of course is black itself, it colors our sinful soul,

With sin there are no shades of gray, a color no tint controls.

Black is the color that represents so much, often so terribly bad,

A mark upon a report card of old, that makes you so very sad.

Black is also the color of death, the grave or even worse,

Satan’s brush is out and ready to paint you with his curse.

I’ll ask again, no trick this time, what color does God favor?

Red, the color of Jesus’ blood, His Son our heavenly savior.

As written before black is a color that no tint on earth controls,

Except for the tint of Jesus blood that changes the color of souls.

From black, to red, to gleaming white, your souls changed and now it’s clean,

Cleansed by the blood of Jesus Himself, forever it will always gleam.

So when you’re asked about colors we see, or even the one God favors,

It is the color of Jesus Christ, our one and only savior.
