GOODBYE MY PUMPKIN PIE!
I once
was a pumpkin squash
Out on
a healthy vine,
You
spotted me big and round
And
said: "You will be mine!"
You
picked me oh so gently
Without the tiniest scrape,
I felt
your loving touch -
Never
a thought of escape!
You
scraped me from my shell -
Spruced me with ginger spice,
Added
cinnamon and molasses -
I was
feeling spicy and nice.
With
all the ingredients added -
You put me back into my shell,
To
bake at 425 degrees
And
came out feeling quite well.
I
enjoyed things while they lasted -
When
something caught my eye,
A
toast to Thanksgiving and . . . . .
"GOODBYE MY PUMPKIN PIE!"
