HAPPY PUPPY

One day you saw me  playing
In a Pet Shop  window  so big,
You walked on by without
A glance, so I began to dig.

And in my shredded papers
I found an Ad:  Puppies For Sale,
I jumped up to the window
And yipped and wagged my tail!

I leaped around and played
And mustered up my trick,
Of wagging and barking too
That it was me you would pick.

Then suddenly as if God knew
He would turn the person around,
To look into the window and
With big eyes; I would be found!

Before I knew it I was lifted
From my shredded paper bed,
I licked and squealed with delight -
Doing wiggles and coos instead.

I now have a home I can play in
And  give out my bark:  "I'm Lucky!"
For you have made me a very  -
