The article below was written almost three years ago, but the
content proves the adage that the “more things change, the more
they stay the same.” The establishment Republicans, the RINO
types, liberals are spewing their nonsense in 2012 just as in
2009. For the most part, the names and the subject are the same,
only the year has changed. The one elected in November 2012
will determine whether the republic begins a slow return to less
government or continues headlong into full blown government
control of more things that have always been none of the
government’s business.
A column titled, Taking aim at the loudmouths,
in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on 10-22-2009, by
Dick Polman of the Philadelphia Inquirer, missed the mark a
country mile with his comments concerning conservative talk
radio. He wrote in the first paragraph: Ever so slowly, sane
Republicans and conservatives are finally marshaling the courage
to confront the unhinged broadcasters in their midst—and not a
moment too soon, given the fact that these loons now seem to be
running the asylum. He is very incensed that Rush Limbaugh,
Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Glen Beck, and Michael Savage are
(excuse the expression) savaging the current administration’s
attempt at changing our constitutional republic into a
quasi-dictatorship, if not a full blown one at some future date.
He dredges up some nebulous notions from years ago, such as the
image on the back of the dime being a 1916 fascist plot, to
support his thinking. The commentators aren’t talking about what
took place 93 years ago. They are looking at the events that are
occurring now and are not using politically correct speech when
they talk.
Of course, the entrenched poobahs of the Republican Party have
their knickers in a twist that the commentators are doing what
they are afraid to do; that is taking on the nut job party
destroying the republic. Senator Lindsey Graham is one of the
Republicans who is irate at Beck and the others because he and
the other linguine spine hacks of the party are being called to
account for not standing on constitutional principles instead of
playing “let’s get along” with the leftists across the aisle.
When challenged skunks always spray.
The commentators make light of the notion that the paranoia the
citizens feel is foolish; A South Carolina Representative, Bob
Inglis, said that “Glenn Beck seems to see is a place where
we should all be fearful
. . . .
It sure does sell soap, but it sure does a disservice to
America.” This man is as bad as Graham. When car companies
are taken over; when executives are fired; when control of banks
is undertaken; when pay levels for upper level business people
are set; and when the people face mounting national debt, not to
mention the soon to be health bill fiasco, the people have every
right to be afraid. The disservice being done to the nation
isn’t the commentators; it is the damage being done to the
constitutional republic by the likes of the nut job and his
fellow nut jobs and jobettes, Graham, Inglis, McCain, Reid,
Pelosi, Snowe, Collins, Leahy, Hoyer, Frank, Schumer et al as
they push fascism and worse off onto to us.
One conservative author said that the commentators are “often
embarrassingly ignorant.” It must be noted at this point
that when the status quo is challenged, the ones who despise a
challenge are the first to begin the tirades against sanity. The
truth is that the aforementioned ones, plus many others are the
ignorant ones. They should be embarrassed if they are ignorant
of the truth; if they are ignorant they should learn; and if
they aren’t ignorant, they need to be run out of office because
their acts are deliberate.
Polman doesn’t like it that the conservative commentators are
blowing the whistle on the tyrants now populating the government
seats of power. The status quo is being challenged by the
commentators who are urging the listeners to question the
poobahs who think they are untouchable. He ended the column with
the words of Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the
triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” The good
men and women of this nation are doing something about the evil;
and the Polman’s, Graham’s and others do not like the assault on
their comfortable status quo. They are blind to the government’s
decadence which they have caused and which the commentators are
exposing. The very truth they are denying is that the lunatics
of the left and wiener Republicans are running the asylum they
created.
