HISSY FIT NUMBER 2

An effort to change the Arkansas Legislature from Democrat control to Republican leadership has John Brummett throwing another hissy fit. Mr. Brummett’s column on October 18, 2012, Holy Wholly Unfair, in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has him becoming unhappy is putting it mildly. The problem he sees is that the out of state money is enabling the Republicans to mount the charge. But that isn’t the total of his unhappiness; no, the out of state money is from the Koch brothers, those sinister black capped men who want to return to constitutional government and conservative management of the state. Not only that, they are plotting to take over by pushing through … now read carefully, … to whether a majority comprised of Koch Republicans then imposes reduced taxes for high-income persons, reduced human services for poor ones, reduced spending for higher education, resistance to the health-care reform law, more charter schools, weakened public education standards, relaxed environmental regulation, abortion choice restrictions and eased regulation of preschool programs on the taxpayer tab that impose narrow versions of supposed Christianity.

How horrible he says that anyone would impose reduced taxes on higher income people. That would make old Karl Marx and Lenin turn over in their graves, not to mention making the Brummett’s god in the White House kick his teleprompter. Mr. Brummett is hyper-ventilating at the though of the government acting responsibly. Why, the very idea, making people start on a path of personal responsibility by efficient use of resources for the “poor” and worst of all is the possible restriction on abortion choice. And just the mention of, as Mr. Brummett calls it, narrow versions of supposed Christianity makes him have shiver bumps right down his leg; maybe both legs.

While Mr. Brummett is so incensed concerning the out of state money of the Koch brothers who are going to take over and impose draconian styles of life, he totally ignores what is taking place in other areas of the republic with out of state money. Harry Reid is sticking his foul nose into the election in three states, Indiana, Ohio, Arizona and Virginia. Harry Reid is afraid that his hand picked candidates who will vote with him on every issue liberal might … horrors of horrors for Reid … lose and he would no longer be the Senate majority leader, if what he does can be called leadership.

Now what does Harry Reid with his out of state money trying to influence the elections in the above named states have to do with the Koch Brothers and their money helping elect Republicans to the Arkansas legislature? The only way that the people of the republic, the ones who want responsible constitutional government, is to accept legally acceptable help from people with like minds. The ironic issue is apparent for anyone who cares to look. It is fine for liberals to interject themselves into elections, but it is wrong for Republicans and conservatives to do the same thing. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, but not according to Mr. Brummett and his ilk.

Yes it is wrong because the play book is for the liberals only, and it is patently illegal for anyone else to use such devious behavior to influence elections. The change must be made at the local and state levels to break the iron fist rule of the Democrats; not to mention all the shady insider deals that have occurred under Democrat rule at every level of government.

And it is not unfair to say that most Democrat candidates will vote for the man in the White House. A rubber stamp legislature we do not need and new faces in the legislature is a good start. It also will cause John Brummett to fume even more while he runs in circles yelping about unfairness. It’s going to be fun watching him if the coup occurs.
