HUMANS AREN’T SOVEREIGN Part III

The following statement may surprise the people of the United States. The United State isn’t a sovereign nation as most believe and the truth is far different about the independent nature of the nation. If the nation was truly sovereign, there would be no allegiance to a higher power or standard, but in reality people and a nation will always be subject to some power outside of themselves. That being true, the nation will be subject all the decadent powers of the universe that would impose rules to the destruction of the nation. Now the reasons for the nation not being one-hundred percent sovereign, needs to be explored. Two of them will suffice to lay the foundation.

The founders ascribed sovereignty to God. Samuel Adams is the author of the following: We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come. James Buchanan said, As sovereign States, they, and they alone, are responsible before God.... There are many more writings of the founder’s that state categorically that they set up this nation according to belief in God and his supremacy over the affairs of humanity. Thus, there is a foundation of morality for the nation contained in all that they did and wrote because they recognized God’s eternal rules for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

However, in the period of time in which we now live, it is similar to the days when Paul told the Ephesians not to be children regarding the truth of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (Ephesians 4:14-15) Every wind of doctrine imaginable is being pushed by divergent groups wanting to exercise … yes, sovereign rule over the people; rule they neither have the power to exercise or deserve if they did have the power. Muslims are demanding special favors; the ACLU brings suits to force their God denying agenda onto all of us; homosexuals want rights that are beyond those protected by the Constitution, and which aren’t part of God’s moral instructions. Denying the power of God and his influence, those groups are attempting to create sovereignty for themselves that can’t exist and never has existed. No matter what they say or attempt, there isn’t any personal sovereignty independent of an outside authority, doctrine or ideology. There is always a controlling factor in everyone’s life, whether it is God and Christ, atheism, Communism, socialism, Islam, other false doctrines, including immorality.

Paul told Timothy (II Timothy 3:1-5) 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  Since we have been in the last days beginning with the Day of Pentecost, what we see today is what Paul warned against. People attempting to be sovereign, competing with God to the point they deny him by trying to usurp his power over the creation. Such behavior was the norm in the days of the apostles as well.

It should be clear to anyone who values the truth that the United States has no sovereignty beyond that which God allows through the practice of his principles, and it is equally true that the God given measure of sovereignty can only be sustained if the people follow God instead of trying to be their own sovereign doing whatever they decide to do in opposition to God’s Supremacy.

There will come a day when as Paul wrote: 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.  (Romans 14:11-12)  Those who think the nation is fully sovereign, and who also think that humans are fully sovereign as well, are going to be surprised to learn that God is sovereign over all. That sovereignty means that there will be no unbelievers in Hell, for belief will have come too late for those residents of the place reserved for the godless, the devil, and his angels.
