IF I SIT IN THE BACK PEW!
Today is church day and
I want to look nice,
Glancing in the mirror
Even checking me out twice.
The time has come to
Leave for my car,
It's a half hour early
Though the trip isn't far.
I hurried toward the church
To pick the front pew,
You don't mind if I
Sit next to you?
I tried to get closer
To Jesus you know,
His words I will hear and
Feel His love before I go.
It seems I hurry to be
First in line you see,
Wanting to know what
Jesus has in store for me.
Then I learned I don't
Have to rush as I do,
Jesus is with me even
IF I SIT IN THE BACK PEW!
