Two observations stand out concerning Gene Lyons. He has an amazing
ability to spin things into fiction and a wonderful ability to ignore
facts. His column on December 19, 2007 about Hillary Clinton exhibited
his talents to the ninth degree. It will be granted that when Hillary
showed her concern for children to Mrs. Lyons she exhibited a different
nature than is normally seen in public. But does the demeanor she had on
those occasions give her the qualification to be President? No more so
than Al Capone’s interest in benevolence gave him a free pass for
violating liquor laws during prohibition. Just as Capone’s actions were
undeniably founded in his criminal behavior, Hillary’s behavior is
rooted in a liberal political agenda. But it is only fair to point out
that her behavior with children the hospital, presumably had to
political motive. But with her, nothing can be a surety. At any rate,
she is given the benefit of doubt in the matter.

|
Lyons took umbrage that Tim Russert and Brian Williams badgered her
during a debate. How terrible that they actually expected her to answer
the questions without equivocation. After all, she is a Clinton and
everyone knows that the Clinton’s are not to be held accountable for
anything, even to not knowing the definition of is. He went so far as to
call truth used against her as the Republican attack machine. That is
understandable coming from Lyons since he has demonstrated time after
time that he has a Masters Degree in using the spinning wheel. It may
even be a PhD.

|
Many people demonstrate compassion to children, but that isn’t grounds
for overlooking the other things they or she does. Lyons never mentions
her socialist agenda for the nation. She wants to confiscate the wealth
of those whom she thinks has too much. She wants to place the health
insurance business and the dispensing of health care under the oversight
of the federal government. She is on record for giving illegal aliens
citizenship. There are a lot of other ideas she holds and is either for
them or against them depending on the polls or how she thinks a group
may or may not like her positions on the issues.
|
|
Umbrage is good word for Gene’s behavior on another issue. He didn’t
like it when Obama said, “I’m not an ideologue, never have been,’ … Of
course, the implication that upset Lyon’s is that Hillary is an
ideologue. How can she not be? She spouts the leftist/Marx line for
government control of everything; she supports homosexual “rights”; she
is against gun ownership; won’t support domestic production of petroleum
and is against all the things not of the Democrat agenda for the nation.
But Obama was wrong in intimating that she was an ideologue; the right
word for her is radical which began during her college days. Of course,
Lyon’s couldn’t write that since that doesn’t fit his leftist radical
view of the world.

|
Now we know that Lyons isn’t an Arkansan. He must have felt terribly
lonesome in this state until he found the Clinton’s. He has hooked his
spin machine to their brand of wool, and as the days go past, the
spinning becomes worse. He spins her and “lying Bill” trying to make
those who can’t think that the Clinton’s are the most put up on vilified
couple ever to wear the self promotion mantel. But what else can be
expected from a New Jersey liberal out of his environment looking for
someone to worship.
|
|
Try as he might to fool discerning Arkansans, all who read his column
know he is an ideologue just as are his objects of worship. He likes
what the Clinton’s like and promotes them at each and every opportunity.
Yes, it is true; Gene Lyons is dependable and he showed it in his
article. He remained true to form in his blindness to the truth.
