If ever there is any better evidence of the wisdom of the founders and
their leadership in crafting the Constitution, compare their work on
limiting government to what is taking place today engineered by the
politicians, both Republicans, Democrats, and the President. If there is
any knowledge of the limits on government listed in the Constitution,
the President and Congress are ignoring it. They do whatever they can
think of and we are the victims of their excesses of unrestrained power.
Though we don’t have a king, their conduct is similar to the Children of
Israel when they didn’t have a king to lead them and In those days
there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in
his own eyes. (Judges 17:6) The President and
Congress are doing what is right in their own eyes and are doing
everything wrong when compared to the Constitution. They do not have the
authority to do what they have been doing, and as result we are moving
ever closer to full socialistic control by politicians who are ignoring
the Constitution’s limits on government.

If President Bush had exercised any wisdom and adherence to the
Constitution, he would have vetoed the energy bill that mandated food be
turned into ethanol and the switch over to mercury laden bulbs. Just a
simple reading of the Constitution would certainly reveal that the items
in the energy bill are unconstitutional and by using the power they
don’t have, that bill allows all of them to be dictators, and elected
ones at that. The President spoke in glowing terms about the “wonderful”
bill and Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, said that the mandate for
the bulbs was a legitimate exercise of federal power. The intrusions
into our lives are only going to become worse. Welcome to Amerika, Komrades.
|
|
Now the issue is crude oil and drilling. Reid said the President’s call
for more drilling is pure politics. Reid’s statement is pure liberal
stupidity. Reid turned off his light bulb long ago. Maxine Waters,
(D-California) the brilliant ignoramus said to the President of Shell
Oil Company,
guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal would be all
about socializing -- uh, uh, would be about basically taking over and
the government running all of your companies.”
Brilliant, simply brilliant given that she
is one who has helped create the energy crises due to short supply and
high prices. It also says that the voters in California are no smarter
than she is since they elected her.

|
Then Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-N.Y.,
said,
"We (the government) should own the refineries," Hinchey said today,
according to a Fox News alert. "Then we can control how much gets out
into the market." Again, more brilliance, simply brilliant don’t you
think? The problem is that Waters, Hinchey and the rest of the liberal
ilk have been controlling how much crude gets out into the market and it
isn’t enough since they won’t allow drilling and the building of
refineries. Sadly, President Bush, while standing firm against the
terrorists, has allowed the “brilliant” liberals to control the energy
agenda and by signing the energy bill he became a willing accomplice to
liberal stupidity.

Hopefully, you now understand the opening that said that the President
and Congress are ignoring the Constitution. They are getting by with it
because many of the people of this nation see nothing wrong with the
solutions the fools in Washington D.C. bring forth. Fools may be a
strong word for some readers, but anyone who doesn’t follow the
Constitution is a fool, and that includes nearly every politician in the
land.
|
|
What is the solution? It is simple, but it will be very unpopular with
politicians and the public. Return to the Constitution and apply limited
government by following the 17 listed duties of Congress in Article I,
Section 8. Wisdom and leadership is badly needed and we don’t have
either one at the present time. The President and Congress are
responsible for the national dilemma. In Sorting It Out, only men of
wisdom and leadership following the Constitution will be able to solve
the problems. More government control by the Komrades won’t do it.
