The recent ad to raise money by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sets a new standard for low life behavior with the use of flag draped coffins of dead military people featured in the ad touting a New Direction. Some are aghast that the Democrats would stoop so low but why should they be? The Democrats have been stooping to new lows ever since wild eyed leftists gained control of the party with George McGovern being crowned their ideal and leader. But this article isn’t about the lows but rather the New Direction flowing from their leftist brains, if what they have in their craniums can be called brains.

It is worth noting that the New Direction is nothing more than a return to the direction of old that has been the mainstay of the Democrats for many years, more taxes and bigger government, calling for more control over everyone. Of course, to the liberals, new depends on the definition they give the word and when it is looked at from the perspective of less government, new means more government. New palaver but the same old socialist ideas.

Nancy Pelosi wants to increase the minimum wage. Where does government (politicians) find the authority to raise the wages of anyone other than government workers? Telling businesses how much they must pay workers isn’t any of her business and as a reminder, the proper name for the idea is fascism. She also wants to end the tax cuts for the “rich” even though the tax cuts have spurred the economy and helped people keep more of their own earnings, not to mention the increase of the tax take by the government due to an expanding economy.

Hatred of the “rich” is part of the left and socialist ideology. The only way to prove the superiority of the socialist system is to prevent free enterprise and less government from gaining a foothold in the collective mind of the people. If the majority of the people ever see the folly of the Pelosi crowd’s stupidity, then Pelosi and her ilk will be cast out into political oblivion. Yet when the issues that she and her kind put forth are examined, it is apparent that their hatred of anything not to their liking is so great they will destroy the very principles that allow them to exist as an opposition party.

What do they oppose? They oppose low taxes, less government, a strong national defense, morality, sensible environmental laws, oil exploration, and whatever else is not to their liking. They have no new ideas and don’t dare tell what they are for because if they do they will be on the way to no power at all. In fact, the new direction they tout is the reinstitution of the things that are the exact opposite of what they oppose and that is the essence of their new direction agenda.

This nation can’t afford to have any more of the Pelosi, Frank, Leahy, Schumer, Clinton, Biden, Kennedy, Durbin et al kind in power. The ones mentioned and several more have done enough damage to the country as it is and we don’t need more helping them out. The danger is in the fact that many people are looking to these people for handouts, having swallowed the get the “rich” and slay “big oil” lines that the lefties have spouted and are spewing daily, and will vote for them so they can keep receiving government aid. Ignorantly, they follow their leaders and are helping create their own demise, for if the nation crumbles, they crumble also.

The so called new direction of the leftist Democrats isn’t new and anyone who thinks it is will be in for a big surprise. It is the old socialist more control for government line that will sink the nation if it is allowed to get back in power.  In Sorting It Out, the solution is to maintain the direction we are on now with three more items to be instituted; a drastic reduction in the size of government, its spending, and a return to the Constitution. That will complete a real new direction and everyone will prosper, liberal Democrats included.
