Let’s cut to the chase without any fluff or hedging. Homosexuality isn’t
normal no matter how much anyone that thinks it is wants to slice, dice,
and cut it. If that is hate speech, homophobic, and not tolerant, then
so be it. We have reached a point in the nation when plain talk isn’t
politically correct for fear of hurting the feelings of those who
persist in attempting to ram their pernicious ways down our throats to
force acceptance of them. In some areas they are succeeding because
people won’t stand up for what they believe. The nation is caving in to
a minority of the population that is only around 2 to 4% of the total
citizenry.

The hue and cry comes assaulting our ears that quoting scripture is
hateful. The religious apologists, who don’t wish be seen as intolerant,
say that God loves the sinner but hates the sin. It is true that the
death of Christ on the cross proves that statement to be true, and that
his death was for everyone is true as well; but it does have a limit.
God’s grace isn’t an open invitation to continue in sin. The invitation
is to accept His salvation given freely in Christ, the other dimension
of his love.
|
|
However, though God’s love is given freely and salvation is extended to
show that love, his love isn’t an anything goes, do your thing, “I
accept what you do,” and no matter what, you will go to heaven
proposition. God expects those who accept his salvation to repent of
their sins, turn to him, and live a new life in Christ in which the
penitent believer makes every effort to not engage in conscious,
deliberate behavior of the old life the scriptures call sin.
|
|
But God isn’t intolerant according to those who proclaim that the ideas
expressed in the preceding paragraph are false and full of bigotry. God
is intolerant of those who persist in engaging in sin and if that isn’t
true, why did God ban Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden? God’s saving
love stops at the point the individual turns away. He allows the
individual to go on traveling the chosen path of destruction.
|
|
In order to prove that God loves everyone regardless of their sinful
behavior, homosexuals demand that they be accepted into churches without
any effort on their part to change the behavior. They have begun
churches with homosexual clergy who demand that they be accepted as
normal by Bible believing people. Jesus said, [Luke 13:3]
I tell
you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
While that was said of a specific people at a specific time, the
principle is true. Yet people will protest that isn’t the god they
worship. They are correct; they worship the anything goes god that
allows them to continue in sin with no consequences. It is a god of
their own making and design.
|
|
If salvation isn’t of any importance, why go through the charade of
belonging to a church? It appears that the homosexual contingent is
attempting to bring respectability to their life by trying to convince
all who oppose their sin that society’s belief about God is wrong. If
that is one of their ideas, they will learn the folly of their ways when
the final day of judgment arrives. God has already judged the world in
Jesus who won’t save those who continue in sin.
|
|
The words of Peter are appropriate at this point: [2 Pet 3:9] The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish but
that all should come to repentance.
|
|
In Sorting It Out, the necessity of repentance applies to all who are
living in sin. If that is intolerant and hateful, argue with God since
it is plain in scripture that those who won’t repent will perish.
