Obsessed and phony experts abound in every field of endeavor and none
more so than in the Sarah Brady anti-gun group. It is understandable to
a point that Mrs. Brady would have a loathing of firearms, but her
personal aversion became an obsession and still is, evolving into a
fanatical campaign against all who enjoy gun ownership. Her diatribes
are in total opposition of the Second Amendment and receive help from
all sorts of fellow travelers, including numerous politicians who pander
to the anti-crowds of all types for votes.

The Brady bunch and her like minded cohorts refuse to accept that the
real problem isn’t guns, but a nation that refuses to punish law
violators to the fullest extent possible. And the foregoing doesn’t
include honest law abiding citizens who are charged with gun crimes that
are a result of running afoul of draconian gun ownership laws which
shouldn’t be on the books at all. When a home owner or renter has to
store his or her guns in their domicile in a government approved manner
or face prosecution if they don’t, that is called tyranny.

When a firearm is used to repel criminals, the anti-gun groups bleat
that it is dangerous to confront a criminal with a gun and any
successful thwarting is only anecdotal at best. Again they are wrong.
Criminals use firearms because they know the power of them over people.
In like manner, when they are confronted with a gun in the hands of an
intended victim, they many times turn tail and flee. If they don’t, very
often they die or end up in a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds.

Statistical evidence garnered from years of research show that guns in
the hands of citizens deter crime. They also show that gun laws aimed at
reducing gun ownership have no affect on reducing gun crime. In fact,
the studies show that fewer guns in the hands of citizens cause an
increase crime in those communities with strict gun control laws. Also
shown is that when laws aimed at criminals are enforced, it has a
chilling effect on the escapades of the criminal set.

The NRA and its members are vilified and accused of having a dangerous
agenda for supporting the Second Amendment. More than a few of the more
radical anti-gun bleaters go so far as to suggest that NRA lobbying
should be made unlawful and that the organization should be “blown
away.” A Google search with the words “Do away with the NRA” will bring
up page after page of diatribes from loony tunes types who misquote,
twist, and otherwise misrepresent all that they are against. To be
deliberately unkind to them, it is amazing how those who know very
little or nothing about that which they speak become world experts on
all they don’t know. (If you think this is harsh, read their statements
about assault weapons which show their lack of knowledge.) Yet, those
who are very knowledgeable on the subject of firearms are dismissed as
dangerous demagogues that need to be shut up. Need it be said that the
latter isn’t the group that needs to be stifled, but the former? Only in
a free country are the unlearned allowed to show their ignorance and do
it so proudly.

Many of the loudest anti-gun people own guns, have carry permits, and
employ armed body guards. When challenged about it, they fall back on
the common ground of that there are dangerous people out there who don’t
respect the laws or rights of others. Indeed, and with that line that is
so correct, they make the case for the reason that ordinary citizens
want to own and carry guns. The words are self protection which every
citizen has a right to employ.

Know nothing experts are said to be drips without any pressure. Be that
as it may, In Sorting It Out, Obsessed and Phony Experts most often are
those drips puffed up by the pressure of their own self made importance,
pushing agendas that only further the cause of the criminal element.
