    PRINCESS

I came from a shelter a few
Months ago in the cold,
I thought for sure I would be
There until I was old.

Then one day God guided two
Loving people inside to see,
If they could find a kitty that
Would  suit them happily.

I looked at them with soulful eyes
So they couldn't miss my tear,
I blinked and stared and pawed
To get them to come near.

It worked because now I am in a
Loving home where I play,
Have ample food and  get plenty
Of care and love day by day.

I love to run and play with my toys
And sit in the windows to explore,
What might be out there and also
I love to sit by the open door.

For fun I scatter the rugs and toss
Some pillows and tease for attention,
My owners have to straighten
Things up and the rest I won't mention.

God is good, he found me loving owners
So I can wake up each morning to show,
How they must make coffee and play
And learn all the things a kitty knows.

God Bless them both I meow each day as
I romp and play and eat my food,
Then I get on my favorite chair to nap
And not get too wild and rude.

I have my own blanket to keep me warm
It is pink and oh what fun this is,
It has a lovely crown with my name

 PRINCESS
