National interest in the marriage amendment and flag burning, while
important to the welfare of the nation, are indicative of the decay of
the nation morally and patriotically. Many words have been written about
both, but neither will have any meaning if another form of rot is
allowed to grow. Yet, the form of rot which is being overlooked has a
connection to the aforementioned issues. The rot is the growing
acceptance of the communist ideology of Marx and Lenin, that when full
blown, it will make the two issues of marriage and the flag seem as
child’s play in comparison. Why? In the countries ruled by Communists
the sole focus is on daily survival.

Two issues caught this writer’s eye in the June 29, 2006 edition of the
Arkansas Democrat Gazette: letters about estate taxes and a news article
about other taxes on the “wealthy.” If the tone of the letters and the
article are any indication, the people of the nation are embracing ideas
that will eventually destroy us from within to a point that conquest by
a foreign power will be inevitable.

An alarming attitude about wealth is permeating the collective mind of
the nation. While one of the definitions of wealth means much of
something or property, another definition is that of something having
value which can be bought and sold. In that regard, everyone with
property has a certain level of wealth. The problem attitude is that of
the politicians and the populace arbitrarily setting a limit on the size
of wealth, and then believing that after a given amount of wealth is
amassed that it should be seized through taxes to enable distribution to
the “needy” and to those who have less wealth. Those who so believe
expect and demand that the “wealthy” should pay estate taxes so that
the poor can be provided with all types of government benefits from food
stamps to health care. Those who hold that attitude refuse to understand
that the wealth others possess isn’t theirs and they have no God given
right to share it. Notice, it says God given right. The so called “right”
to share in another’s wealth is an edict of politicians who are
promoting the Marxist doctrine by appealing to the greed and avarice of
their supporters, all of which is contrary to the Constitution. It isn’t
the business of anyone, politicians and the greedy alike, to limit the
wealth level of anyone through taxes or otherwise, and then wrongfully
demand a part of what isn't theirs.

The news article contained items from a report on ways that could be
instituted to raise revenue to meet spending needs of the state. One of
them was to tax the retirement benefits of “wealthy” retirees. Again,
the poobahs have the attitude that the resources of some retirees are
too great and they should be tapped to feed the ever growing appetite
for state spending. (Remember, it was Bill Clinton who rammed a tax on
Social Security through Congress; a tax on money already taxed as
ordinary income before the SS contribution is made.) Of course, such a
plan will be popular amongst those who think they will benefit from such
taxation. Taxing the wealthy retirees may seem fair to those doing it,
but what is fair about taking away the earnings of anyone to satisfy
political greed or any other greed?

Slowly the nation is being transformed into a nation of dependency on the
government at the expense of those who have more. It is a ponzi scheme
at best with the rob Peter to pay Paul programs that destroy wealth and
independence. What those who champion such activities fail to recognize
is that the day of reckoning will arrive when Peter has nothing left
with which to pay Paul. Full blown Communism will have arrived at that
point since all property will belong to the government.

In Sorting It Out, all the foregoing will become reality due to the
Rotting from Within caused by those who want something for nothing. The
something they will receive in the end is nothing, and the two issues of
homosexual marriage and flag burning will be long forgotten as people
try to survive in a system that encourages and condones gross immorality
and displays a hammer and sickle type flag.
