A financial guru, Warren Buffet, is on record saying that Obama Can Spread Prosperity, Fairness. He says he can lead us to the right place. He went on to say that “We have abundance but we don't have as much fairness as we might have in the system. [The conclusion is that Obama is going to change that.] He also said that [Obama is a] “leader'' who can ease economic disparity while increasing prosperity …. Oh boy, Yee Haw, Zippity Do Dah, economic salvation is going to arrive for everyone. Uh huh, just like those aliens from outer space that all the spaced out believers keep trying to convince us exist.  

It is amazing that Buffett thinks the government should be involved with the economic activity of the free market. (The market isn’t free, but we will pretend it is so the guru won’t be upset by the truth.) Apparently he doesn’t subscribe to the Bible message about profit found in James 4:13-15: Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. The message isn’t that profit (gain) is wrong, but the wrong is not including God in the plans for the trip to the market by looking at it as God’s will for them.

Can’t you just see it now? Instead of honoring God by making him part of the business world, we can now ask the great savior Barack Obama to bless the plans for profit since he is “who can ease economic disparity while increasing prosperity …. But, remember there is great disparity in the “free market” economy so whatever plans you might have to make gain must meet the approval of savior Obama. You just might be contributing to the economic deprivation of the government designated “down trodden” to make them even more down trodden.

How will savior Obama bring about the great equalization and fairness? Have you not heard of taxing the “rich” to pay for the programs designed to equalize prosperity and make for fair treatment of all? One of the most galling ideas along that line of thinking is the twisting of the scriptures that teach that the poor and needy should be given help to mean that the government through taxation should force people to help others. (That notion generally is held by liberal Democrats who claim to be Christians) The rich man who had many possessions is often cited to justify taking from the “rich” to help others. Well, why not do that? After all, the “rich” can afford it. They have more than others. And besides, it makes things more equal and it is only fair. Well, it does, doesn't it?

Never mind that most people earn their way by the sweat of their brow. Some prosper as a result of the effort and others don’t do as well. But according to Buffett and Obama that isn’t the way it ought to be. The playing field should be controlled so that the outcomes will be equal. That idea has been tried before. Have you not heard of Communism and the Soviet Empire which tried to equalize everything economically? They did equalize the economy for all. No one had anything and all were equally miserable. That is except those who controlled the system.

No matter the name given to the great notions of the politicians and gurus, or whether they are the New Deal, The Fair Deal, The Great Society, or New Covenant, they all call for more government, higher taxes, and more meddling in the affairs of the citizens. The name of that is loss of freedom and liberty.

There are those who hope that one day it will be said that “This day in the city of D.C. a savior has come to us who will bring us blessings of the government, prosperity and fairness.” Don’t you believe it! In Sorting It Out, it must be remembered that the Bible says beware of false prophets and that there is but one Savior of mankind, and it “ain’t” Obama.
