A lot of people see no
connection between the Bible and everyday living, believing that
whatever is found in that book is best reserved to some exercises of
piety on Sunday morning in a church building. That isn’t true and the
reasons will be pointed out in this article. It is true that the Bible
gives the message of salvation but it also includes the way that people
should live whether saved or not. The godly principles make for good
living for a lot of reasons, but that is for another article.

When the political
discourse is examined, a wide gulf can be found between what politicians
say and do versus what is acceptable behavior outside of politics.
Politicians routinely lie, cheat, and steal with little consequence for
their behavior. Such behavior shouldn’t be allowed, but it is the
reality of the political world and the fact that so few politicians are
ever punished is the remainder of the reality.

When politicians begin
to speak one must be wary of the forked tarnished tongue in their
mouths. Principles can be taken from verses found in the Bible to cover
that political behavior. First the verses, Matthew 7:15- 20 and 2
Timothy 3:1-5, need to be looked at and then the teachings can be
applied. Mat 7:15

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them
by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree
bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit,
neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that
bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Then in 2 Timothy 1,This
know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men
shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers
of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but
denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

There are those who
parade about looking one way but are actually the opposite of what they
say. We know what they are but they try to delude people about their
real agenda and ideology. Now who fits the person described in the verse
cited? It is Hillary Clinton and the evidence is her ideology and
behavior before and since she became a Senator. She has bad mouthed and
accused the President in ways that are totally out of line with decency.
She has made statements that lend weight to the belief that she is no
stranger to the fine art of being an artful dodger about telling the
truth.
|
|
She is changing her tune
on abortion, gun control, and other items in an attempt to position
herself toward the center in the hope that she can fool enough people to
buy a four year lease for her residency in the White House.
|
|
Apparently the posturing
is paying off for her. According to an article in News Max, February 12,
2005, by Carl Limbacher (http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/2/12/101622.shtml
) that according to a poll, 64 percent of the New Yorkers find her
“honest and trustworthy.” The Democrats give her an 85 percent rating
which is no surprise since Democrats like Ted Kennedy as well. The
numbers are proof that the she wolf is on the prowl and is now deluding
those who see and hear her. However, the poll cited may also indicate
that those in New York have as much trouble with knowing the meaning of
honest and trustworthy as Bill Clinton had with understanding the
meaning of is. But when Bill says she would make a good President it is
time to be fully on guard. He knows well the meaning of that line.
|
|
Hopefully, those who
understand her political behavior will challenge the change she is
portraying and keep her from devouring the flock with her leftist,
socialist, communist leaning ideology.
