It never ceases to amaze me that people look to government to solve
their problems and at the same time trash private enterprise efforts
which bring to us the means to have a high standard of living and
quality of life. In the letter to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Voices
letters of 07-12-2009, the writer lauded Representative Vic Snyder for
voting for the cap and trade bill. Never mind that Snyder only read a
synopsis of the bill and then voted for it without knowing what the bill
contains.
|
|
The letter writer is for cap and trade because we need to stop climate
change. Well, he didn’t exactly write that, but that is what cap and
trade is going to attempt. What it is going to do is ruin the energy
production in this nation due to government meddling, which Snyder does
all the time. He took an oath to uphold the Constitution and one can’t
help but wonder if he even knows what it says about limiting government.
|
|
In the letter, the writer wrote that Snyder did what was best for the
district, the state and the nation. That is pure nonsense. If Snyder had
done what was best he would have voted against it since the bill is
unconstitutional in every respect. He says that Snyder
casts his vote for all the right
reasons (wrong, he supports his fellow buffoons in the Democrat Party)
and that is why he is the top vote getter in an election in conservative
Van Buren County. Van Buren County is conservative, but the county
voters are predominately Democrat. As long as the voters don’t examine
Vic’s ideology and voting record he will continue to be elected until a
viable conservative candidate can make a successful challenge.
|
|
Then the letter writer took a cheap shot at the electric cooperatives
that serve Van Buren County, Arkansas, because they are lobbying against
the oh so noble cap and trade initiative and feels so sorry because the
sainted Vic Snyder, liberal buffoon that he is, is being barraged by
those against the bill. The writer takes umbrage that the electric
company leaders are defending themselves and their company against the
intrusion on their ability to produce power for everyone. No, they must
roll over and do whatever Snyder and his fellow meddling buffoons in
Congress are doing.
|
|
Studies and research indicate that so called clean energy and green
energy is actually a path to no energy. Wind and solar cannot supply the
energy needs of the nation and will eventually lead to energy rationing,
now known as brown outs which will be mild compared to what will happen
if the buffoons have their way. Look at the energy mess in California
due to limited energy production and the high demand.
|
|
There are some things in the letter that are not stated. It is the lack
of knowledge of the writer of the type of government that we are
supposed to have according to Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution.
That is an indictment of the schools for the failure to teach limited
government. If the writer knew the Constitution he would understand the
reasons that the companies are lobbying against the cap and trade
nonsense and wouldn’t be holding Snyder up for an example. He said
Snyder was on the right side of history. If stupidity is the historical
standard then both he and Snyder are on the wrong side of history and
common sense.
|
|
When the writer flicks the light switch, turns on the oven, uses hot
water, watches TV, operates his PC and does all the many other things
with electricity, does he ever think about what cap and trade will do to
his life style? Will he be able to afford the cost of doing what he does
with electricity? We can only hope he never needs to find out.
