Break out the pink lemonade; serve up the Krispy Kremes; play soul
music; another one of Follywood’s great spokesman for world
understanding has spoken. No longer will we be divided says she, the
great new guru of in depth prognostications, Sharon Stone. She said,
"We are just that breath away from a peaceful co-existence, …."
Only a breath away says she. Is that a long breath, a short breath, or
hold your breath?
|
|
When did the empty heads of Hollywood become giants of intellectual
pursuits on the world stage? Michael Moore, Barbara Streisand, George
Clooney et al are trying to be in depth with their wonderful
pronouncements about world peace. It all began when William, the jester
of the Hillary court, began to schmooze with the stars in crystal ball
gazing. Ever since then, the poobahs of the celluloid have tried to drag
their fantasy into reality by having a great inability to recognize that
fantasy and reality don’t mix. Fantasy will never become reality except
in some weird world like the Twilight Zone of Rod Serling fame.

Peaceful co-existence sounds nice. Chamberlain tried it with Hitler.
Other people and nations tried it with Hitler. Peaceful co-existence
never works. Just ask the people of Israel who have had years of
fighting the Palestinians. The man in Afghanistan who converted to
Christianity from being a Muslim was on trial and faced death for doing
so. Does Sharon Stone really believe the hot air of her breath she is
spewing?
|
|
Peaceful co-existence can only occur when two people agree to leave each
other alone and not say or do on purpose, anything to irritate and
offend the other one who holds divergent beliefs, which covers about 99
and 44 1/100 percent of the world. In the main, divergent beliefs
co-exist when one party doesn’t try to force his or her beliefs on the
other. Genteel conversation and debate about issues and beliefs serve to
bring understanding, but understanding isn’t what some people want.
|
|
In the case of radical religious groups, the only understanding they
know is “do it our way or else” and if you don’t agree our actions will
be breath taking. Maybe in that sense peaceful co-existence is a breath
away. The radicals demand for peaceful co-existence is folly and anyone
with any sense understands that truth. It is akin to the bank robber
telling the bank president that he can get along with him without any
trouble, if he, the president, will just agree to let him and his pals
loot the vault anytime they need funds. The only way for peaceful
co-existence in the example of divergent beliefs is for the bank to meet
the demands of the robber.

Stone said before her co-existence line: "And it really is just a
breath. It's just an agreement that's just a breath. We are not far
apart. We can choose to have this alternative kind of growth that is a
collective nuance of understanding. What in the world did she say? A
nuance of understanding? Whatever that is supposed to mean, please tell
us. Apparently she has been listening to the baloney that John Kerry
emits from time to time. He is the great expert on nuance since he has
been for things he was against, due to the conditions that made him
think he should support it before he realized it wouldn’t help him
politically to be for it and now he is against it even though he was for
it when he thought it would ... oh forget it. Nuance isn’t easily
understood by us mere mortals of common sense.
|
|
Stone reminds me of the man who turned off the beaten path into fantasy
in a Twilight Zone story. When he tried to escape, an invisible and
impenetrable wall blocked his path back to reality. He remained forever
locked in the fantasy of Twilight Zone. Reality was but a distant image
floating past his mind.
|
|
In Sorting It Out, it appears that Stone and the rest of Follywood have
created their own impenetrable wall and can’t see reality. Or maybe they
never knew it in the first place with all the nuance of smoggidy
understanding smogging their minds.
