There is no such thing as Pie In The Sky, but the liberal Democrats, along with some RINOS, are determined to continue the social engineering of society no matter the cost and the hardships it brings to the citizens of the nation. From the federal level, we have affirmative action to support for the homosexual agenda in don’t ask don’t tell. The states support affirmative action and several now are creating laws to give homosexuals special privileges and rights. Government at all levels has specific responsibilities and social engineering isn’t one of them. However, since the days of FDR, social engineering has become a government industry, raking in billions of dollars through higher and higher taxes to support the less than noble endeavors of the planners. The whole attitude amongst that group of nosey bodies is if the people won’t willingly abide by what we want, then we’ll force them through the power of our office. That is called tyranny in case you need a definition.

Is there any area of life the power mongers won’t enter? The answer is no. They endeavor to stick their long noses into every aspect of life to help us live better because we don’t have enough sense to know what is best for us. Now their goal is to rid us of the notion we need petroleum products. It’s not only the notion they want to dispel, but it is the effort to rid us of the actual product. They are the experts and they will quickly tell us that they know more than we do about our needs.

Maria Cantwell let the cat out of the bag about the reason the Democrats won’t allow drilling. She explained [that the] Democrats don't want to increase supplies of oil and gasoline because they want to wean Americans off of petroleum products. Then when asked about an increase in supply she said, "Oh, we definitely want to move beyond petroleum. It doesn’t make any difference to them that the high cost of energy is strangling the nation, and that we need a large supply of crude oil to lower the price, she and her ilk are determined (the we of her statement) to force other forms of energy onto us no matter the hardship that results and the ensuing cost which will be more than the spending of money.

Senator Blanche Lincoln, Democrat Arkansas, said that we need a sensible energy policy that uses drilling and alternative energy sources and Americans also need to learn how to conserve on energy use. She knows so much better the way that each person should live, but she ignores the fact that we can’t conserve our way to energy health anymore than sensible people can ignore her stupidity.

Cantwell’s statements and the agenda of the Democrats are no better than Communism stated in another way. Communism is nothing more than the government telling everyone what to do and when to do it. Couple Maxine Waters saying that she was for the government taking over the oil companies and you should be able to see the direction that the Democrats will force upon us. Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-N.Y said, "We (the government) should own the refineries. Then we can control how much gets out into the market."  Now we know the definition of we. It is the socialism promoting Democrats who think they are the government. Actually, they are fascists when they speak of taking over the oil industry. Hinchey’s words are pure Communism in that he said that they could control how much oil gets into the market. And that is the way Cantwell and the socialist planners will wean us off of oil. It will be a forced weaning such as a calf being taken from a cow. The calf will live since that is natural, but the weaning the Democrats propose will lead to the destruction of this nation and them along with it. Call it for what it will be: The government managed death of a nation.

But Cantwell, Waters and Hinchey, and others like them, never see that their ideas are against freedom and liberty. Social engineers never worry about hose great ideals. No, freedom and liberty is dangerous to hear them tell it. It is destroying the planet and giving obscene profits to oil companies. In Sorting It Out, one thing is true about social planners. They will never run out of ways to destroy the independence of this nation’s people.
