The people of the United States are confronted with many problems of
various kinds. None is more vexing to them than the demand of
homosexuals and their mantras demanding that they be allowed to marry.
All sorts of remedies are proffered but none work very well. Congress
passed the defense of marriage act, which is patently unconstitutional.
Such a law isn’t within the delegated powers of Congress since it is
foreign to the powers of Article I, Section 8. A call for a
constitutional amendment has been ongoing, but that isn’t the answer
either as will be seen. (The Constitution limits government, not
people.)

The clamor of those against queer “marriage” is that marriage is being
destroyed. Actually, queers aren’t destroying marriage. It is those who
are failing to stand up for marriage; and that failure is laid at the
feet of those who call themselves Christians. It must be remembered that
God joined one man and one woman together no matter what the queers
demand or their supporters say is right. It isn’t a civil rights issue.
It is a sin issue pure and simple.

A disease has crept across the land and it has silenced the churches.
Mainly it is people expecting government (politicians) to solve moral
and other problems rather than speaking out against sin and immorality.
We live in a politically correct society that has silenced those who
claim to be God’s people. They don’t want to be thought of as not
tolerant, considerate and respectful of the feelings and idea of others,
so they remain silent instead of confronting ungodly ideas. And with the
silence, immorality of all kinds is flourishing.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, Ye are the
light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let
your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and
glorify your Father which is in heaven.
The verses need no explanation. Those who
follow Jesus are to act like it and preach and teach the good news and
that includes speaking out against the sin we see rampaging across our
republic. Electing politicians to office who, though they may be of a
conservative nature and who express some godly ideas, will not change
the moral and spiritual climate of the country. Only God following
people can do that by speaking the message of God brought to us in Jesus
Christ.

Read the words of John Adams concerning
morals and the Constitution. We have no government armed with
power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality
and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the
strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” –
Address to the Military, October 11, 1798

The Constitution is the design for our republic and the federal
government. It is neither moral nor immoral; it is amoral and only deals
with the government powers, not the morality of the people or those in
power. The founders supposed that those who would lead us would be
God-fearing men and women who would be honorable in their dealings both
publicly and privately. We can see from daily events that their
supposition, while true at one time, is now false. The people, who do
the voting and who are responsible for the ungodly holding office, must
return to the ways of God and make their voices heard across the land.
They must throw aside party and do God’s will, not party will. Standing
for the Truth found in God’s message of Jesus Christ will begin to
change the direction of the country. Nothing else will work.
