Benjamin Franklin was asked what type of government we were given when the Constitutional Convention ended. He said, “A republic if you can keep it.” Have we kept it is the question and the answer is forthcoming.

Since 1933 the republic has been bending left thanks to FDR. The government began to provide various types of assistance to the citizens to help them through depression which was actually brought on by the liberal policies of Herbert Hoover. (Research the subject and you will find that it is true.) FDR blamed the affair on Hoover and claimed he would fix the nation. Herbert Hoover was so vilified that it was easy for FDR to blame the mess on Hoover and the people believed it. FDR promised hope and change. The situation with Hoover and FDR was very similar to the vilification of George W. Bush by the Democrats and the nut job in particular the last four years.

As the years have gone by, an increase in the size of government was accompanied by the increasing mantras that the government would and could cure all our social and economic ills. The only problem which the people did not see was that with increase of the social cures, the economic health declined as government took more and more of the private sector resources for government use. As that occurred, the people became more and more dependent on the government for their welfare (pun not intended); not only personal welfare but government provided welfare in the form of rent subsidies, housing, food and health coverage to name a few of the social remedies for problems that did not exist until the government began to fix what was not broken.

God was shoved aside by the courts which agreed with the ungodly that brought cases demanding that God be removed from the public arena. The ungodly judges were all too eager to throw off moral restraint and side with immoral plaintiffs. As a result, immorality has gradually replaced the ideals of God’s morality and has become the daily norm. Television, movies, books, the internet and even those in elective office (including the highest office in the land) are speaking and promoting immorality. Vulgarities are routinely heard coming through the lips of Plugs (Joe Biden-Vice-President) and the nut job (aka Barack Hussein Obama) which, based on their demeanor, they think is funny. Do you see how far we have come when public office holders engage in the moral degradation of our republic?

But it is worse and will become worse. Abortion is being openly promoted by the nut job and he insists that the violation of the conscience means nothing to him; homosexual behavior receives a wink and the military must now accommodate immoral behavior. He issues executive orders and makes it known that if Congress won’t do his bidding, he will do whatever he wants without them. So far he has done exactly that with some of his orders. He is planning more atrocities against the Constitution and when he violates the Constitution, he violates each and every citizen’s well being and liberty. Yet, there are those who are so intoxicated with the nut job that they refuse to see the danger that the republic faces.

The road we are on isn’t approaching a cross road; rather it is a T intersection. As pointed out above, the road has been bending left since 1933 and we will either continue to the left so that the right section of the intersection will disappear into history. The right part of the intersection points to the Constitution and limited government which scares the left into hissy fit behavior. And you know to where the left part points; it is more of the same.

A hard right turn is needed to change the direction of the republic, but that turn is up to the people to not only signal it, which some polls indicate is happening, but to make the turn November 6, 2012 by electing those candidates who will begin the  work needed to stop the increasingly harsh left bend of the government.

Have we kept the republic we were given? The answer is no and what is left is fleeing from us as the left and their minions continue to violate the Constitution, the laws, the morals of God and decency public and private.

Only by returning to God’s moral way and the Constitution, will the economy begin to heal with the republic becoming whole once again. Economic strength can only occur when the people have moral strength, and it is up to each one of us to make our voices heard in opposition to the direction we are going. If we don’t, then no one else will do it and the degradation will continue morally and economically. Which will it be, stay left or go right, November 6, 2012?

A personal note to all readers: I have the highest respect for the Office of the Presidency of anyone living. However, the man currently holding that office is degrading the honor of that office with his continuous lies and other behavior that is unbecoming not only of the President, but of the office. I refuse to call him other than the nut job. The Bible tells us in Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. The man is not due any honor since his behavior deems him unworthy.
