The American Press and Media at one time "reported" the up-to-date news to the public. Now, too many of this same profession “make” (up) the news instead of reporting it. Watching the evening news on television, the public can hear of how badly the war is in Iraq. Yet Oliver North may interview a serviceman who relates how proud he is of the progress being made in Iraq. Another of hundreds of true examples is the most recent story from Newsweek of the Koran, the Holy Book of the Muslim world, being flushed down a toilet. This untrue article resulted in riots, anti- American demonstrations, and sixteen people being killed in Afghanistan. Then a statement from Newsweek that “they are no longer sure of their source for this story.” A previous story from newsman anchor Dan Rather about President Bush's National Guard service was false, yet Mr. Rather stood by his story, which angered the public, and ended Mr. Rather's anchor job. Some political news stories that should be reported are omitted on purpose because it would shine a favorable light on the party that's not popular among the elite media. As liberals are against the death penalty, the media will always make every effort to report each time when and where a felon will be put to death, and then will be at that location to film the small handful of protestors outside that facility. This, of course, is to further the agenda of themselves and the liberal public. This kind of thing is now happening with increased frequency, the stories of which would fill hundreds of pages. The public has lost confidence in the once-earned respect of the media. The American Press seems to have almost become the Anti-American Press. So we're left with the question, “who can we trust to bring us the truth in the news?” KK © 05-20-2005 |
