There have always been cunningly devised fables that from age after age have turned men and women away from the true God. Mythology has had more influence in the development of modern evolutionary “science” than most people have ever realized. Evolutionism apparently was an active movement long before Darwin appeared on the scene. Renaissance thinkers had a concept that everything that existed in the universe had its place in divinely planned hierarchical order. God was at the top, and everything else extended from God down to the lowest form of life, and even to the lowly rocks. This was called “The Great Chain of Being.” All it needed to become a full-fledged evolutionary theory was the introduction into it conception of time and a universe being made continuously. It was not supported by anything even approaching science. The rise of comparative anatomy became linked to the concept of the Chain of Being with its study of variations within existing species This fueled a desire to find the missing links in the Chain. But none was ever found. This concept was a medium for the transmission of evolutionary concepts of modern science. The concept did not come from empirical science, which it antedated. Nor did it come from the Bible or early Christians. It contradicts their teachings.

All science concerning the origin of the universe is conjecture. The idea that evolution can account for the origin of all living species has never been an established fact. Real facts cannot be disputed, but scientific proof is based on showing that something is a fact by repeating the event in a controlled environment where observations can be made, data drawn, and hypothesis empirically verified. The scientific method can be used only to prove repeatable things. Instead of testing their theory against the evidence, as they are supposed to do, some Darwinists consistently ignore, explain away, or misrepresent the biological facts in order to promote their theory.

In 1866, a German zoologist, Ernst Haeckel, an atheist and contemporary of Charles Darwin, attempted to explain apparent similarities between humans and other animals. His work became a part of the Great Chain of Being. He espoused a theory (the theory of recapitulation) in which he claimed that the development of advanced species pass through stages represented by adult organisms of the more primitive species. He believed that the human embryo had gill slits or pouches in the neck, (folds of skin, which became the chin), which he thought signified a fishlike ancestor. He produced several drawings of embryos that overemphasized similarities between embryos of other species. He believed that the human embryo goes through stages, of fish, amphibian, reptile and mammal. This was proven wrong in 1874. He even admitted that he faked the drawings in 1911. But it’s still taught as proof of evolution. It’s the justification for abortion. (Because it’s just a fish, it isn’t human yet). We now know absolutely that is not true. But this stubborn falsehood won’t go away.

Charles Darwin appeared just at the right time to catalyze this movement into an explosive reaction that changed the world and revived ancient paganism in the form of science, which also caused the resurgence in the so-called New Age Movement. Every discipline of modern thought is now contaminated and controlled by evolutionism. Schools and colleges are everywhere, dominated by evolutionary thought and methods. All the great wars have been motivated by evolutionary philosophy. The moral decay and widespread religious apostasy of the present are founded squarely on evolution. Darwinism has a strong opposition to biblical Christianity. There is a heavy presence of the devil in the simultaneous development of Marxism and Communism. It’s not a battle between science and religion, as evolutionists pretend. It’s really just a new phase in the age long conflict between two worldviews. One centered on the Creator of the world and his redemptive work on behalf of that lost world, and the other on man and his self-oriented goals, and Satan, who is behind all rebellion against God. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)
