The years passed and the
problems mounted as more and more alternative power solutions to save
the earth failed to supply the energy needs of the nation. To make
matters worse, thousands of wind turbines stretching from the
Texas-Oklahoma border to well into Nebraska were mangled by a series of
tornadoes over a period of two years. The destruction was so bad that
engineers predicted it would be close to two years before the turbines
were up to full capacity again. There wasn’t any alternative since the
coal and gas fired generating plants had been torn down to meet the
demands of the EPA’s new rules.

Three different administrations
spanning twenty-four years had come and gone with no improvements. They
made promises to fix the problems and all that occurred was more of the
same. Rationing had to be instituted so that food and other items could
be conserved. Government run health care couldn’t keep up with the
demand. It was even worse when the power to operate the various high
voltage diagnostic equipment wasn’t available due to power rationing.
PETA had tied up with lawsuits the expansion of the wind generators.
They claimed that the blades were killing millions of birds of all
kinds. Cities had invoked noise ordinances which had shut down some
generator farms until the courts could wade through the issues and make
a ruling.

If all of the above weren’t
enough, countries were now charging exorbitant prices for the goods that
were imported into the
United States. The demand
was outstripping the ability of foreign suppliers to supply the
products. Without imports, the nation would collapse, since due to the
power problems not allowing manufacturing on a large enough scale to
provide goods.

|
The proponents of alternative
power blamed Congress for not passing laws that would raise taxes enough
to fund more research into all forms of alternative energy. The truth
that those few who were working couldn’t afford anymore taxes was hard
to accept. The unlimited credit card called taxpayers had reached its
limit. Funding sources had dried up. The great schemes of Al Gore and
his group had all but brought the United Sates to its economic knees.
When someone inquired about Gore’s whereabouts, the answer was that he
was in another high level meeting. That’s true. He generally was at
30,000 feet flying all over the world to keep from having to meet the
irate public.
|
|
The promise of utopia that
alternative energy would usher in was now not looking very utopian.
Millions of people were ready to usher it out and shove Gore and his
cronies out with it. It is readily understandable that Gore would be
engaged in many high level meetings. As the years passed, the conditions
worsened. Everyone knew what needed to be done, but the politicians
steadfastly refused to relax the rules and laws against natural resource
based energy production.

Then an amazing event took place
that seemed innocent enough, but one that would lead to an energy
revolution. Molly Dimwiddy graduated from college with a degree in
energy engineering. Not only that, but Molly’s grandfather had left her
a coal fired power plant. It was one of four that existed which could
produce power. She knew she couldn’t tackle any project by herself so
she simply got herself elected governor of her state. She immediately
began to challenge the federal government and insisted that they prove
that they could control power production. Since the limits on government
didn’t give Congress the power to dictate the type power a state could
use, she threw the Ninth and Tenth Amendments at them. When courts ruled
against her, she ignored the federal judges and brought impeachment
charges against them.
|
|
To say that chaos was the order
of the day would be an understatement. Molly forged ahead and
eventually she had an army of people marching with her. She was elected
President after two terms as governor of her state. Congress was cleaned
out and judges were removed from the court rooms. At the end of eight
years in office, oil production was making the OPEC nations scream
unfair. Power plants, both nuclear and coal fired were coming on line.
Wind generation was being phased out, as were a large number of solar
panel farms. The United States was roaring back and nothing could stop
the people from returning the nation to greatness as they looked to God
for their strength and guidance.

|
Molly’s father was much older
and one day he asked her, “Molly why didn’t we see the light years ago?
What you and many millions like you have done is absolutely amazing.”
|
|
“Daddy the fog of global warming
blinded so many and there just wasn’t enough power to make the light
shine. But it was that lack of power that finally turned on the lights
so that people could see the trouble that all the foolishness was
causing.”
|
|
“What happened to Al Gore?”
Marvin asked.
|
|
“He’s still having meetings but
not at the high level as before.”
|
|
What do you mean?”
|
|
“The last time I heard about
him, he was in a lower level meeting at 2000 feet in a two seat Piper
Cub looking for a safe place to land.”
