Strike up the band for the First Amendment. That sound is the result of
the United States Supreme Court upholding freedom of speech for various
groups and at the same time, destroyed most of the campaign finance law.
There is another sound; it is the rage of the liberals that have lost
control of the dissemination of political information. That to them is
totally un-American and must not be allowed to stand. It isn’t dangerous
to the republic, as they would have you believe; is dangerous to their
continued imperial rule.

It is most interesting to learn the identity of those who do not like
the decision by the Robert’s majority. The New York Times has
taken extreme umbrage to the decision saying it is destructive to our
democracy. We have a republic and the decision restores the voice of
individuals and groups to say and print what they believe whether the
hearers and readers believe it or not. The Times likes the idea
that a group of citizens can limit what other citizens say and write. In
other words, the minority through law has made the republic into a
democracy and which has enabled them to stifle political speech.
However, news groups have the unfettered right to speak and print as
they desire. In effect, they had no competition due the campaign finance
law.

A cry by the left is that corporations will now threaten politicians
with defeat if they attempt to control their business. The left is only
looking at it from the standpoint that the corporations will rage
against Congress when it tries cut off their illicit activities (which
for the most part do not exist.) That is smoke to hide the other side of
the coin. The truth is that corporations will be able to speak against
those politicians who want to exert control through the color of law to
the detriment of the business world. The left has a great tendency of
not speaking all the truth, if it speaks truth at all, and the truth in
this matter is that the left doesn’t like most corporations and other
groups that oppose the leftist agenda.

When the left cries about court decisions and certain laws, you can be
sure that the rulings and the laws are affecting their ability to lord
it over us. Whatever is said is always slanted to make the position
sound appealing and look good in order to maintain their position. The
man in the White House never misses an opportunity to castigate the
court for the decision, and if he doesn’t have the opportunity, he makes
one whether it fits or not. His media minions constantly harp on it and
the writers of letters to newspapers who oppose the ruling continue to
show their ignorance of the Constitution.

Our republic was founded on the premise that all people, whether
individually or in groups, have the right to speak politically,
religiously and on other topics. Yet, the left tries to obfuscate the
matter. The Times said, “The
Constitution … mentions many things and assigns them rights (?) and
protections—the people, militias, the press, religion. But it does not
mention corporations.” It doesn’t mention a host of other things either.
But it does mention that the Congress cannot limit freedom of speech
whether is individuals or groups.
