The Story of Palm Sunday

There were huge crowds that came to Bethany for the Passover Feast. Many had heard or seen Jesus in Galilee. They heard Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches, used in celebration of victory, and went out to meet Him. Jesus found a young donkey which fulfilled Old Testament scripture (Zechariah 9:9), and as He rode it down the road the crowd waved their palm branches and spread them on the road. (Matthew 21:8). They joyfully began to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen (Luke 19:37).
This story is the reason for "Palm" Sunday. We're blessed it still appears on our calendars, with the current climate of liberals trying to remove all aspects of Christianity from the US of A. Palm Sunday has been revered by Christians for 1600 years now.
