Think Tanks

A word that has appeared in the English language fairly recently is a Think Tank. What the heck is a Think Tank?

It is an institution, corporation, or group organized for intensive research and/or problem solving. They can forecast trends and develop solutions in every conceivable topic such as technology, social problems, public policy, politics, etc.

To just name a few, there is The Hoover Institute, The National Civic League, The Benton Foundation, and the John Locke Foundation. My personal favorite is The Heritage Foundation. They are influencing events in Washington to a greater degree than anyone ever thought possible. Much of their success comes from the fact that, for thirty-one years, they have stuck by one set of principles - those of the Founding Fathers. Their vision is building an America where freedom, opportunity, prosperity, and a civil society flourishes. Their mission is to formulate and promote public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong National defense.

They are the experts.

I admire these values.
