Traditions Lost

When one person posts a complaint, does that take precedence over a majority of the Populus that does not complain? It seems to work in this United States. Ms. O'Hare complained about prayer in schools, which was a long-time tradition, and through her efforts, prayer was removed from the public school systems. Now, the NCAA has had a complaint or two about using Indian names for teams and mascots. So, regardless of how the Populus, fans, or Indian tribes feel regarding this tradition, they will be banned during NCAA Championship Games. Why? It seems to once again be a matter of multiculturalism with political correctness. And, once again our traditions, history, and legacy are coming to an end (if we let it). Most fans think it an honor to have mascots and Indian team names. I dare say most American Indians do not even object. Will someone object to towns (Chappaqua, Iroquois); automobiles (Jeep Cherokee); and Tomahawk Missiles having Indian names? If so, will there be a do-over of history with a renaming event timetable? The new President of the NCAA is Myles Brand, a former mediocre President of Indiana University. Gee, I think the State of Indiana also birthed its name from Indian. Just more irresponsible chopping of our traditions, Kemosabe.
