The previous article took a look at
fragmentation
of the nation through
granting special favors to various groups instead of following the
Constitution which provides for equal treatment for all citizens. It is
undeniable fact that the founders of the nation believed in God and most
of them were followers of Jesus Christ. Only those who refuse to read
the works of the great men disbelieve and ridicule those who know the
truth. In their zeal to refute, they cite sources written by those who
have twisted the truth in an attempt to obscure the truth.

Over the years the heritage that was given to us has continually been
diluted with an anything goes and anything you want to believe and
practice attitude. Consequently, we find the nation a drift as the
people more and more deny the base upon which the nation was founded,
God and his principles. The result is a nation that is rapidly becoming
two nations; one that believes in God and his son and the other one that
denies God and attempts to repress those who do so believe. Along with
that, another religion is being given a place because the adherents,
[Muslims] demand special treatment. That religion is Islam, a strange
religion that is an antithesis of the teachings of Jesus and the
apostles.

No one is forced to follow Jesus which is the teaching of the
scriptures. The men who founded the nation believed through their own
free will and through their belief that all should be free to follow God
as their belief based on scripture dictated, was the guiding force for
the Revolutionary War the ultimate founding of the nation. Article VI
which says, but no religious test shall ever be required as a
qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
To fully understand the meaning it is necessary to understand that the
reference is to a particular denomination or belief formula, not that
some other religion not based on the God, the Creator, would be
acceptable. George Washington said: "Much to be regretted indeed
would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road
which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will
ever come to pass." God whom they worshipped was their foundation
and Washington couldn’t believe we would depart from His path.

Such a difference exists between the teachings of Jesus and those of
Islam which the nation is beginning to accommodate while pushing against
those who believe in Jesus. Wherein Islam teaches that those who don’t
believe must be killed (adherents deny that is so), Jesus says to knock
the dust from your feet and go on down the road when people don’t
believe the message. Matthew 10:14-15. And
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out
of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say
unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha
in the day of judgment, than for that city.
There is the teaching and the
warning for rejecting Christ. But it isn’t instant (or nearly so) death
for not believing as the Islamic religion teaches.

Little by little, the preaching of the cross
is becoming a hostile behavior to those who deny God and who don’t want
to be constrained by any set of values but their own selfish ideas.
Jesus is becoming a strange god in this nation much like that which Paul
encountered in Athens Acts 17:18: Then certain philosophers of the
Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What
will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of
strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.
Jesus to the unbeliever is strange because he is different. His
message is showing faith in him through obedience and doing good deeds
for others, the end being their salvation if they obey in faith, not
killing them if they don’t believe. That is indeed strange to those who
are trying to please God through inhuman deeds to affect salvation.

We can’t exist as a nation with two religious
beliefs, one of which makes unrelenting demands for its recognition. In
Sorting It Out, if the adherents of Islam want to live here, then let
them follow the ideals of the Constitution and stop demanding special
favors for their practices. If they can’t do that, ships and planes
leave every day for other places. Let them depart quickly.
