A nation founded on belief in God, and with his moral principles as the guiding force, is slowly sliding into the abyss of tyrannical rule that is eroding the founding principles that have been the hallmark of our freedom and liberty. Each day a new assault is made on the Constitution by those in government who are supposed to safe guard the liberties we enjoy. Instead, legislation is brought forth that will destroy our way of life. Essentially, those in power are in league with Satan to destroy Christians.

As if it isn’t bad enough that various cities in several states have enacted ordinances outlawing “hate speech,” namely the preaching of the Bible or quoting of scripture in public, Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, D-Texas, is introducing legislation that will make teaching the truth concerning homosexuality a crime, and that means that anyone preaching about the sinfulness of homosexual behavior as is found in the Bible, would be in violation of the law.

Paul and Silas were beaten after Paul in the name of Christ relieved a beleaguered woman of a spirit that was a source of income for the unscrupulous (Acts 16:16-24). Ultimately Paul and other apostles were executed for preaching the gospel of Christ. While no one in this nation has been executed for preaching the gospel, they have been beaten and threatened by homosexuals and arrested by police officers for hate speech. According to news accounts, police officers have stood by and watched peaceful citizens being attacked by homosexuals and they did nothing. In a few cases, the officers arrested the gospel preaching citizens.

The founders of this nation fought a war to liberate the people from the tyranny of England. It was a crime to speak against the crown and to preach other than what England allowed. After 231 years of enjoying freedom of speech, Rep. Jackson-Lee proposes to stifle the speech that men and women for eons have enjoyed in combating sin. That line brings us to the crux of the matter.

Deviant conduct is evil and that disturbs those who practice such behavior. They don’t want a guilty conscience and thus attempt to force everyone to accept their lifestyle. By stifling the preaching of the gospel; by eliminating those who say such conduct is sin; they think in their twisted minds that their conduct is normal because no one will be speaking against them. They think silence and acquiescence is consent and approval of their conduct.

Christ went to the cross because his message was unpopular. The apostles were killed because the message of Christ calls for people to change their behavior. Paul spoke the truth of this matter in Romans 1:24-27: 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

A reasonable assumption is that people such as Jackson-Lee don’t believe the Constitution; they don’t believe in limited government, and though they may say they believe in God, their action on all counts give lie to anything they may say. Jesus said, Matthew 15:8-9: This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. It can also be said that when they violate their oath to uphold the Constitution, the oath they profess is a blatant lie. Their hearts are far from their oath to honor the Constitution.

Such proposed legislation will further erode our freedom and liberty and is evidence that evil rules in the lives of those who protect despicable conduct. In Sorting It Out, people such as Jackson-Lee and her ilk deserve nothing less than removal from office for trying to violate God given rights protected by the Constitution.
