The column in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette 10-11-2009, by
Bradley Gitz, professor of political science at Lyon’s College in
Batesville, Arkansas, pointed out that the left hates individual liberty
and freedom. Indeed they do and there are reasons for their attitude
toward individuals.

|
Gitz wrote that the left hates capitalism; imposes political correctness
on the people and our culture, to name a few of the topics he covered in
his article. All of the notions of the left are an antithesis of
biblical teachings and have a commonality to teachings found in the
Bible. In short, the left hates any authority that isn’t of their
doing.

Jesus confronted the Pharisees for not following the law; they were
imposing rules on the people outside of the Laws of Moses that they
themselves didn’t follow. The Laws of Moses were the guide for the
people which the Pharisees cast aside for their own rules. Doesn’t the
left of today correspond with the behavior of the Pharisees?

God’s rules for living are unchanging since he is unchanging as James
wrote in Chapter 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is
from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no
variableness, neither shadow of turning. God doesn’t change
unlike the whims of men who want to curry favor their own gain.
The guides for living were given so that we can live honorable and
peaceful lives. There is freedom in the principles which give liberty to
all who will follow them. That is what the left refuses to acknowledge
since God’s principles and the teachings of Christ point out human
behavior by teaching what is correct as well as teaching what is wrong.
The left doesn’t like any rule that inhibits their behavior. Sin doesn’t
exist and therefore nothing is wrong. Those who speak of sin and wrong
aren’t politically correct.
|
|
Anyone who likes the liberty that God gives understands that there are
moral and ethical bounds to behavior. The words of Jesus point out the
boundaries for behavior and lay down the principles for godly living.
The writings of Paul pointedly denounce sin of all kinds including
homosexual conduct. The left hates anyone who speaks against perversion
and they do so because they know such behavior is wrong. To say
otherwise would require them to acknowledge that God is the ruler of the
world and sets the bounds for behavior. Their pride and denial of God
won’t allow them to humble themselves and admit they aren’t the powerful
beings they pretend to be and in control of all they see.

Profit is a horrible word to the left. Those of that persuasion believe
that profit is wrong. They refuse to listen to the word of God from the
pen of James 4:13-15. He said that it is fine to go get gain (profit)
but include God in the plans for profit. The adherents of the left
believe that profit for one denies something to another who is just as
deserving. So they pass laws that take from one and give to another
under the guise of economic justice. Again, they refuse to believe that
God has a teaching that covers the distribution of goods and earnings.
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded,
nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us
richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in
good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; (I
Timothy 6:17-18) The left can’t admit that the word of God has the
answer for all of life.
|
|
Why does the left hate liberty? The answer is easy. The left hates God
and his ways because he takes away their power over others and empowers
individuals to make their own decisions in life, thus in effect
rendering the left useless. And in the final analysis, godliness has no
place in the life of the left since it inhibits its love of power and
perversion.
