WILL HE OR WON’T HE?

The title of this article is the question on the minds of millions of people as Election Day, November 6, 2012 approaches. Two sets of answers will be given here, but answers aside, it is up to the readers to decide the fate of the republic.

That he won’t be re-elected depends on several factors. One, a heavy turn out of those disgusted with his unconstitutional and dictatorial behavior will send him and the Mooch packing which will be good riddance. Two, those Republicans dependent on government largesse must understand that the “entitlement” mind-set which began with LBJ cannot continue. The likelihood of a mind change amongst some of those people is not going to happen to any great degree. Three, businesses that receive subsidies must vote for Romney even though he says he will end the handouts.  The wind power energy people in Texas are worried that the subsidies will end. The subsidies are costing the taxpayers 1.3 billion this year for producing a bit more than 8 percent of the electrical needs of the region. Realistically, the alternative energy industry must stop its dependence on government since the federal money as nothing more than another step in to socialism. Four, people on Medicare must vote for Romney since he and Ryan want to revamp the program to keep it viable. Otherwise, it is going to go broke and all will suffer. The nut job removed money for Medicare to pay for nut job care which has or will put Medicare in the gone column. Why would anyone vote for him after that move? Five, those who don’t like the nut job also do not like Romney because he is wealthy. However, there is nothing wrong with wealth which he earned legally and honestly and to not vote for Romney due to that dislike will elect the nut job. Six, all voters must vote for Romney to begin a return to limited government even though a new administration might not do much to facilitate the return.

Re-election of the nut job will occur if, one, the disgusted do not turn out in big numbers, but rather choose to stay at home. Two, those dependent on government handouts vote in large numbers to keep the largesse flowing. This is a near 100% given that they will vote for the nut job so number two above is a wash. Three, subsidized business entities will refuse to vote, for the most part, for anyone who wants to end their gravy train, so Romney will be on the outside on the subsidy issue. Four, die hard Democrats will vote for the nut job even though many of them will lose medical coverage when Medicare goes bust. Party affiliation is greater than common sense and self-preservation. Five, the dislike of Romney because he is a Republican and his wealth mean votes for the nut job. Stupid to be sure, but a lot of human behavior is stupid politically. Six, limited government is a “right wing” conspiracy to keep the poor, poor, to enable the wealthy to prevent the poor from receiving what they think they deserve because the wealthy have somehow deprived them of the good things of life. Article One, Section Eight defines the limits of government, but since that is a relatively unknown to Democrat voters and even some Republican voters, votes for the nut job is assured on that count alone.

There you have it and no doubt you have noticed that the will he or won’t he are the same depending on the whether one likes/dislikes and/or wants limited government or expanding government. To further compound the answer is the fact that roughly 47 % plus of people eligible to pay taxes do not pay one penny of federal income tax and a large portion of that group receive government assistance (Social Security is not government assistance in most cases, although many receive payments who have not paid much or any into the system).

Will he or won’t he be re-elected? The answer is up to you, the voters, and the choice you make will determine whether we stay on the road we are now traveling or  embark down a different road that, at the least, ends the unconstitutional behavior of the man currently in the Oval Office. Remember he said, “If Congress won’t do it, I will.” He has shown he means it and if you want more of the same, the nut job is your man.
