YOU'RE THE APPLE OF MY EYE!
I watched you sprout your tender
Leaves, so I could come to play,
Amongst the branches I do crawl
To pick and choose from your buffet.
I snuggle in a pretty leaf while
You produce a delicious red apple,
When this happens, I crawl along
To get ready for a sample!
I know my way inside of a big round
Apple; only to find it dark and damp,
Sure smells good , like apple pie -
What I need is a good sunlamp!
When this apple is plucked from
The tree's outstretched limb,
My fun may be over and very soon
As my chances of survival are slim!
Luckily I did escape to crawl
Onto another branch real high,
I can't be reached now as I'm
At the top, high in the sky.
Now I hit something and it is hard -
Why it's a seed to be planted,
Through God's grace this seed is
Food, and will not be taken for granted.
So I dropped it to the ground -
And I will tell you the reason why,
I can claim another tree and say:
YOU'RE THE APPLE OF MY EYE!
